Does anyone have some nice feedback for the new user putting this question in the sandbox? While it's well specified, it breaks so many community norms that I'm doubtful it will ever be well received. However, since the user put so much effort into the question, I really would like to salvage it if possible.

@Sisyphus I was reading that when it first got posted, and honestly, the only thing I was thinking was "This is a super cool idea, but it's so far out of left field and it's so just different to most challenges, that it;s gonna be a nightmare for a new user to get up to standard"

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

FloundererRound a Matrix Your input is a 2d array of nonnegative floats A. It can be supplied in whatever format is most acceptable for your language. It can have any dimensions. Let r and c be the 1d arrays of rounded row and column sums of A respectively. These are defined in the obvious way, with the r...

Prove me wrong

At least I don't contribute to the chance by not replying to that message.

@Lyxal You had me at "There is"

You replied straight away after those first two words?

@mods If we want to flag an answer to get it converted into a comment, is the "In need to mod intervention" the best reason? I ask because the "Not An Answer" flag has this in it's description, which might suggest that's a more appropriate flag (especially for users < 50 rep):
> It should possibly be an edit, a comment, another question, or deleted altogether.

Do NAA flags show up in our dashboard? I'm not actually sure.
If so, you should flag them as NAA. If they don't for whatever reason, then flag them for mod intervention otherwise we won't know about it and thus won't be able to convert it.

I thought they went to the Low Quality Posts queue

Not sure if that's NAA or just VLQ flags
The last time this came up, I'd just flagged 2 posts, one as NAA and the other as VLQ, and WW dropped in to let us know that "they" only went to the review queue, and I don't think it was ever answered which flags go where
> The "not an answer" flag will trigger the answer to be reviewed by ordinary members of the site via the Low Quality Posts review queue if the answer has never been to that queue before.

I think a mod flag would be the easiest way to get it converted to a comment, NAA just seems like it'd add extra steps to do the same thing

3:55 PM
Oh, I see. I'd say just mod flag it then; I look at the queues but it doesn't always have the "pending reviews" red circle there, but the flag count will always show.

Q: Winning a simple game of snake

DschoniIntroduction Ah the good old times, when Snake was the game of choice on your Nokia phone. Actually, I can't remember if I ever beat that game, did I? So, how would one actually beat Snake? Well, obviously by having the longest possible snake, having eaten all that tasty apples! Which leads me to...

Q: Guess my password (cops' thread)

userInspired by this challenge, which got closed. This is meant to be an easier, but no less interesting version of that. This is the cops thread of a cops-and-robbers challenge. For the robbers thread, see here. Cops will provide a program/function and a flag. Robbers will try to guess a password su...

Do we have a site policy for what a "cryptographic function" is? I assume so, and I probably just haven't seen it yet.
e.g. what's stopping me from just multiplying the input numbers and making the password like a pair of really large primes

@HyperNeutrino IIRC that's a standard loophole

Ah, okay thanks. I figured it wouldn't be allowed.

6:36 PM
@HyperNeutrino codegolf.meta.stackexchange.com/a/19323/79857 is the loophole for crypto functions, but I purposely didn't specify what counts as one to prevent further loopholes of the "this isn't a crypto functions, it's a video game that involves finding a 4096 byte prime" type :p

Oh okay lol :P well in the interest of making the challenge not boring and silly I will refrain from making answers that are basically unsolvable :P lol
do we have a policy on ninja'd robber answers? that is, can two robbers crack the same cop answer, or does only the first one get to keep their answer (cracked independently and around the same time)

Thoughts on my changes to this challenge? (n is now just the number of inputs, not the length of the program)
