Jono 2906Output Unique Factor Prisms   Today's task is very simple: given a positive integer, output all unique rectangular prisms formable by its factors.   Explanations   When the term unique is used, it means that each prism needs to have different dimensions. For example: [1, 1, 2] and [1, 2, 2]...

Q: Formatted JSON character map

watzonThis is a pretty straightforward challenge, also my first so go easy on me. Given 2 integers from 0 to 1112064, print all of the UTF8 characters in that range as a formatted JSON object with the key being the number and the value being the corresponding UTF8 character. Example: Input: 400 410 ...

hi all
Have we had a challenge to implement a Kolmogorov Smirnov test ever?

flawrProduct of Shuffle Algebra code-golfmath Compute the shuffle product of two elements of a Shuffle Algebra. Definitions An Alphabet is a set of symbols. For this challenge it is \$A = \{a,b,c,\ldots,z\}\$. Let us use bold letters for variables that denote elements of the alphabet. A Word is a...

website of the day. It's ironic because they claim to be a "leading IT/ITES provider".

Smells like a distinct lack of QA.

also their certificate was updated just today... ;P

@AdmBorkBork Niceee, 'grats!

I've been browsing used/refurbished/etc. computers and have found some interesting part combinations for sale. For example, a desktop with 128 GB of RAM but just a regular hard drive (no SSD).
> Enormous amount RAM to smoothly run your games and photo- and video-editing applications, as well as multiple programs and browser tabs all at once.
They must be future-proofing against chrome updates.

@PhiNotPi Are you sure they didn't just screw up making an SSD, finding out too late it loses all data once powered off?

AZTECCOTiling string (inspired by the tiling pattern effect tipic of the texturing of landscapes. This question I would like to ask is not exactly the same thing but close to it, or at least it was the idea) Given a string S check if it has some repeating tile pattern and prove it providing at least ...

linear algebra problem: given a rectangular matrix M, find a vector v of non-negative numbers such that the product Mv contains as many positive numbers as possible with no negative numbers.
I was gonna make a challenge around this but realized I didn't know how to solve it.

brute force :D
although I'm not sure if the program will always end :P

9:06 PM
there's probably some relatively straightforward constraint you can place on the vector
but I have no idea what

@PhiNotPi I strongly suspect that is NP-hard, but don't have a proof
You might just be able to make it do MAX-3SAT

@PhiNotPi maybe they were expecting you either a) to create a RAMdisk or b) to use an OS that is very good at caching and therefore you don't notice the HDD speed so much

@Neil Or c) slap in your own SSD
