re: the naming debate: one advantage of "PPCG" is that it refers to this site unambiguously even in external contexts; if the name is just "code golf" then those context will need to distinguish it from other code golfing sites somehow (most likely with an acronym like "CGSE")
the best name would probably be something like "code golf" as the title and "and other programming challenges" as the subtitle, though
"programming puzzles" is definitely wrong, though (they've been posted on Puzzling without anyone minding, and it's much better set up to handle them than we are)
