Just check if N is in the sequence
@DJMcMayhem You have to rewrite essentially Mathematica's Solve, and that doesn't always succeed.
@totallyhuman Given N, find the number that comes after/before it in the sequence
@Phoenix Well, it wouldn't be possible for every sequence
ah ok
so first i have to implement find first
i'm thinking i should allow for find first x instances of n as well
@totallyhuman not too hard with the O(index(n)) solution
wait so why exactly are we both working on essentially the same thing xD
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i've been waiting for a language that works with oeis
that hasn't happened yet
so i decided this is a great idea
23:10
or maybe this happened
6 hours ago, by totallyhuman
@HyperNeutrino oh that's a great idea; i'm stealing it
xD :P
yeah after hearing it from you :P
:P
lol I'm filling out an anonymous feedback form to my air cadet squadron about how the training year was any how we could improve
but I'm pretty sure anyone who reads it will know it's me xD
uh what
lol
@HyperNeutrino :O you are in air force?
wait nvm
23:16
no
i am 15 xD
it is a cadet thingy which used to feed the air force a long long time ago
in a galaxy far far away
@HyperNeutrino :O you are in star wars?
star trek?
star rekt
Idea: decompile node from x86 -> LLVM -> emscriptem -> JS. And now run node.js in JS
23:28
somebody answer this question with charcoal
@ASCII-only ^
Is it just me or is which is not 0, match 0 in a browser's find
yup it does ><
yeah
á matches a too
it's really annoying
though at least a is a latin-based script.
I made an efficient Lua based Raytrace algorithm!
23:36
uh
@ATaco ooo nice! looks good now I want to make one ><
That's not a solid thing, it's $1000\pi \over 4$ lines.
lol
><
how does your program represent the "room"?
as an image, or as vertices?
Map of points.
23:39
So, kind of an image.
It would be much more efficient to use vertices.
probably
But, this will let me easily do wolfenstein-esque 3d.
ooo interesting
is it fast though
also I tried making a 3d thing once
it was bad
23:41
Well, it's running that at 60FPS.
@ATaco pure lua? Which version?
Löve2D, Lua 5.1
Rather simple algorithm, chunks up the map, as the ray moves it checks nearby, and because the map consists only of squares, it solves the x and y intercepts of the line with the bounds of the box, if they fit one of the sides of the box, we've got a hit.
well rip I wanted to cap today
but I can't find any questions to answer
