That's easy. The effing western general can just say we were targeting terrorists. Among them damn terrorists, some civilians died.
user116848
Yeah it is sad. I have heard that women in Pakistan etc. have dug graves to put all their family in because all males are gone (dead due to drone strikes).
:O
Man I'm gonna sleep in half an hour!
Why did you say that now?
:'(
user116848
okay
user116848
@M.A.Ramezani Well, just came to mind.
user116848
Sorry for depressing you.

NVM.

but at the end of the day if you were Jainists it would be peaceful there
>:|
user116848
I disagree.
user116848
Argh! I know.
Everything old is bad, but an old religion is good?
What logic says that?!
user116848
Nonsense, I know.

@Arrowfar mostly one local state is doing the sponsoring (your neighbor on the other side of Afghanistan)
That's like saying the pencil wrote, not me!
user116848
20:07
Heh!
It's always been the divide and conquer motto...
user116848
Exactly!

Game of Thrones everywhere it seems.

You have to examine the country you live in. Was it the US who assassinated Benazir Bhutto? Who harbored bin Laden?
Was it Pakistan?
Was it Pakistan's people? >:|
user116848
Yeah all politics.
user116848
20:14
I mean I tried to say that like a level headed guy.
in English Language & Usage, May 27 at 21:20, by Robusto
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 I'm just circling around the observation that Pakistan is an unstable country, with nukes, one that sponsors terrorism, and so they make some countries nervous, and that leads to all kinds of shit. Crazy shit. And I don't mean by this to absolve anybody, only to set the stage for what is really going down.
Then the US should've been drowning in sh*t right now.
user116848
Ugh. I know.
in English Language & Usage, May 27 at 21:35, by Arrowfar
@Jez Well, that is not true. I am a muslim myself but I never, ever think about taking another person's life. Why would I? I mean these are (IS etc.) terrorist organisations. So blaming Islam (religion) is not a good thing I'd say. Islam basically teaches us to live peacefully, I can tell you that much.
Thumbs up
user116848
Yay!
in English Language & Usage, May 27 at 21:36, by Jez
@Arrowfar not really. there are plenty of parts of the Quran that could be interpreted to be unpeaceful, and there's the whole dhimmi tradition toward non-Muslims
user116848
20:18
Argh!
If I were you, I'd've told him OK, which parts?
Chop the fruits
That could be something unpeaceful.
user116848
I know, I kinda tried to end the discussion there.
user116848
I mean ELU chat is very lenient but I was not prepared.
user116848
He caught me off guard.
user116848
I have studied a lot of Quran though.
user116848
20:19
And Sahih Bukhari etc.
Well, lots of Quran is interpreted as unpeaceful, by people who claim to be Muslims.
@Arrow you should've said
> Then all these Muslims slaughtered in Syria...
> Did Quran say anything about slaughtering them?
I wish I was there.
user116848
@M.A.Ramezani Me too.
user116848
I was extra nice there on purpose.
Good, but you could challenge them with rhetorics.
user116848
I mean I didn't want to get flagged.
user116848
20:23
:)
Hhhh, I'm off to sleep. Cya!
user116848
See ya!
user116848
Hi!
I have a quick question, I am writing a formal email. Is it appropriate to start the email by saying "Dear publications Department"?
user116848
20:30
I think it is fine because we write "Dear Human Resources" sometimes too in emails.
user116848
I found this:
@CoKoder "Dear Publications Department" is fine
Depends on where you are, as well. Email etiquette varies by culture
Less formally you might write, "Hello Publications Department,"
20:58
@AaronBrown Thanks!

Q: How do I indicate which other site in the SE Network when voting to close?

DCShannonWhen I vote to close, it is often because the question belongs on another network. However, when I select that option as a reason when voting to close, the only other site that is displayed as an option is the meta site. How do I pick another site?
