Trying to understand this grownup thing (I'm 30...) of drinking tea in hot weather, I'm new to tea (green only!) but why ... why do adults keep drinking hot tea in hot weather and how is it I've come to do the same... is it a weird rite of passage that just means you're well and truly an adult?

I have been drinking hot tea (black) since I was a young child, in every kind of weather.
And I still do, although now mostly fruit teas.

@Willeke Fruit infusions are really good! Not many kids drink hot drinks in summer where I live in the UK (Bucks) so I find it rather fanscinating!

I don't have the rep to do so but shouldn't we have mobile-phones as a synonym of cell-phones?

@Aravona, it might be a generation thing, I am mid fifties and at that time you drank what your mother served you, or water. And my mother, as many English mothers at the time, would have black tea, hot.
Sweet drinks were for special days, milk at meals and water the rest of the time.
Fizzy drinks were 'once a year' rare.
By the way, my mother still has hot black tea several times per day, whatever the weather.
@Willeke That's amazing, I love it! I am 30, and I grew up on fruit squashes, and water, and fizzies were a treat (until I was old enough and ugly enough to buy my own of course!)
@RoryAlsop Did you see @Aravona remark about mobile phone and cell phone tags?

@Willeke sorry, no. Do you have a link?
Four entries above this, also in the starred list.

Hey @RoryAlsop :) hope you're well
Might have to wait till I'm back on a proper compuer - I can't see it
@Aravona hi there
@RoryAlsop just for ease for you then (because it's you) I said "I don't have the rep to do so but shouldn't we have mobile-phones as a synonym of cell-phones?"
@Aravona that sounds like a good idea
I'll do that this evening - don't think it requires formal raising in meta as it's pretty self-explanatory
@RoryAlsop awesome, thought so :)
