@StrongBad I am not saying using a stove in a tent is ideal, but seriously using red hot rocks inside a tent?? How many people you have to stuff into that tent to quickly warm it?

If you put more people into a small tent, that will warm it up for sure. But it will take at least an hour for the effect to be noticed.
And the energy released by burning 0.5kg of Methylated Spirits is the same as putting a 15kg rock heated to 500 degrees. But you would be crazy to put a 15kg 500 degree rocks in your tent.

@TelKitty I wouldn't suggest putting hot rocks in a tent either. It is mostly the open flame I would worry about. Something like a catalytic heater would be better in my opinion even though they also produce CO.
