There is a post at Area 51 considering making a Fourth attempt to start a site about shooting sports. discuss.area51.stackexchange.com/questions/23597/… I have pointed out that almost everything there is in scope here.

An still ... no firearms questions

I am thinking about going through the area 51 proposal for The Armory and posting a comment for every question that looks like it would work here, for the person to post the question here. maybe 95% of the 1+voted questions work on TGO. Most of the 0 voted questions do as well. The only neg vote question does not work on SE.

On second thought - Actually the neg vote question would work here, and I think it is in scope "How old do you need to be to purchase a handgun in Massachusetts?"

@RoryAlsop Hi! I'm just popping in to see if the recent question about bird ID in Baltimore was deleted by the author or a mod? I came upon it a few minutes ago, and when I tried to post a comment with a clarifying question, it had been deleted. I had seen 1 close vote and a comment by someone, who I can't remember, voting to close, I think as off-topic though I'm not sure. Would you clarify exactly what happened? Thanks very much. @JamesJenkins and @OddDeer - yeah, Seth said the same about sailing, but at least for that one he has a good list of scope areas we wouldn't have here (maintenance, merchant navy requirements etc etc) but this one just seems daft. It's all on topic here
