I am planning for a trek at the Advance Base Camp of Saser Kangri. The region is so deserted of people and expeditionists/mountaineers that there are usually two to three odd tents at the Base Camp of the mountain, and its a known fact that once you are beyond the Base Camp, yours is the only tea...
On any exploration/trek/camp sometimes you just need to hunker down. My father told me of having to stay in a tent for 2 weeks high on the Beardmore Glacier. He was bored, and concerned about supplies, but it does give your body a chance to rest
I thought some geek would come and say, "don't go, if you can't go up, bloody climb down and start again". And seriously I had had a friend from Nepal who did that :O "Just the weather being nuts, I can't climb up, so I'll go down, grab a beer, have a giggle with ppl down there and come up when things are good, You can take care of my tent and backpack in here :D" I was Amazed!
@WedaPashi If you are on your own, you should take certain precautions - eg if snow is heavy, an alarm set every hour so you can check you aren't getting buried or having your oxygen cut off is a good idea

@Rory @Weda I'd add an answer but Rory may as well add to his answer that you should be ok to sleep at that altitude... So long as you are not going up solo your risks would be minimalised.

Base camp makes more sense....or else this is a fire, which is a bit weird...

I'm going on a one day hike, and I want to cook an egg whilst on it. I'd like to avoid carrying excess water, and the route goes past a couple of waterfalls and several streams, so there is no problem in acquiring extra water. However, I don't know whether there would be risks from bacteria in th...
@Liam I'm fairly new to the site, but I'd protect it... The recently made comments add nothing to the question or answer and confuse more than clarify.
