8:01 AM
morning everyone - hope everyone is well.

4 hours later…
12:11 PM
Afternoon @Aravona. I'm melting in Poole
It's almost 30°

12:25 PM
@RoryAlsop yeah it's over that here too - just been for a walk out in it... in jeans

6 hours later…
6:07 PM
@Aravona @RoryAlsop we have nice monsoon weather here :D i guess around 22C

Hi @Ricketyship, we have it hotter here and it is predicted to stay for a while.

Hiya @Willeke! how have you been? Did you recover from the bad health?

I am back to work but completely right yet. Only minor things left, like a stuffed nose.

ah okay :)

6:28 PM
No chance to do anything active for the upcoming weekend, I will have guest arriving this Thursday and one will stay till Monday, the other will stay a couple of weeks but with breaks where she is off to other places.

ah ok
i'm climbing this weekend

The friend who is staying longer is not out-door-sie, plus her age is against her.

then need to buy some stuff for some other travel which is coming up

on a training wall or real wild rocks?

outdoors
bouldering mostly

6:30 PM
Ah, that last is the dangerous bit, in a shop, ready to spend, and a lot of things you will lust after.
Bouldering sounds fun. (No natural boulders around here.)
And I have never been brave enough to go to a climbing wall.

Bouldering is fun. Although tiring as well

Now I have too many little problems, like a back and a knee that do not like some positions.

yeah that can be a problem

And likely that I am too scared, not afraid of heights as such but rather scared of falling.

well indoors it's not a problem. The crash mats are usually well cushioned. Outdoors, it can be a bit risky even though we have crash mats.

6:37 PM
It is not falling as such but the chance on falling that will stop my from trying.

i know many who struggle even indoors once they are a few feet above the ground. The fear of falling is quite normal i guess :)

I have been in a light house (4 stories building on the coast) and looked out of the window at the top, looked down, without problems. But in going back down I had to step from a floor onto a ladder, good handholds, only one story 'hole' as you needed to walk across the room, and I had the biggest problems to get onto the ladder.
Fear of falling is not bad, it keeps you safe in many situations. It is just not helping in some sports.

Yep i now! survival tool it is

Your upcoming trip sounds like it is a big one. (Not just in time but also in destination.)

yeah it is!
this is the first one
This is the second: google.co.in/…
This the third: google.co.in/…

6:52 PM
Sorry, search results do not always come true the same way.

Oops
okay leave then :D

Pin Parvati Pass Trek (First?)
Kanamo peak Second?

Yep

Bali pass third? (Will it still be in snow?)

Yep!
it'll be a mix of green valleys and snow at the pass

6:55 PM
That is an extra challenge.
Will you be with friends, with a group of people you do not know or (almost) alone?

Yeah. We have snow at the other two treks as well. The toughest of the three is the Pin parvati pass. It's long and tiring every single day.
I'll be with two other friends.

That is good.

After that two of us will be backpacking for one more month :)

That is also good, very different from treks.

yep!

7:11 PM
I have only done one thing you could consider a trek, (booked through a holiday company, with paid guide) and quite a big group. I did damage my weak knee, so never dared since, one day walks only.
Hardangervidda (English: Hardanger Plateau) is a mountain plateau (Norwegian: vidde) in central southern Norway, covering parts of the counties of Buskerud, Hordaland and Telemark. It is the largest plateau of its kind in Europe, with a cold year-round alpine climate, and one of Norway's largest glaciers, Hardangerjøkulen, is situated here. Much of the plateau is protected as part of Hardangervidda National Park. Hardangervidda is a popular tourist and leisure destination, and it is ideal for many outdoor activities. == Geography and geology == The plateau is the largest peneplain (eroded plain...

I want to do something in Norway some day :)

I could finish but only because the guide took my backpack and found me a stick.
'When you win the lottery'? Like so many things on my list?
