Just saying it happens, not infrequently, and moderators need to be able to deal with it happening to them because it's not something they can control.
I know one moderator just stopped attending chat because his chat experience turned into mostly "Ask A Moderator."
@BraddSzonye thank you very much, i now feel a little glowy inside :) i've already put thought into whether i'd moderate here way back in the past though, and i'm unlikely to nominate myself
i like doing community moderation here, but i don't think being an elected moderator is something i'd do right now
@kevin.matheny we finished beta with 4, elected 3 when we launched. one has stepped down already and we are electing 2 more, which will take our total to 4.
I think the value of temporal distribution would be tied to the distribution of activity across time - if we're primary US daylight hours, for example, then we'd benefit less from having moderators who are awake/aware/helpful during the sleepytime hours.
@MadMAxJr I almost made one up for my nomination but the real-estate taking nature of that seemed to be in bad form
@MadMAxJr totally post a meta though if you see fit, though Im not sure how photoshop, copywriting, and graphic design skills transfer to good moderation
