I really feel that the responses that come back from WRI (through support) about methods used by various Graph functions are borderline hostile. Just now, this is what the developer sent (through support) about how GraphLayout -> PlanarEmbedding works.

> "the option performs what is described by the documentation and there is no extra literature available to distribute"
This is not a unique occurrance.
This is after a Graph dev said publicly on Wolfram Community that:
> "Informations about algorithms are provided to users through Wolfram Technical Support or in public forum such as Wolfram Community."
But no, that is not the case. Public questions about such topic here on SE are basically never answered for Graph, while we frequently get detailed responses for other areas of functionality.

When I copy and paste things from anything other than a StandardForm (e.g. Input) cell I get huge numbers of little \ lines and newlines and then Mathematica crashes. Surely this is not the intended behavior.
Does anyone else get it and if so do you know how to make it not happen?

@Szabolcs reply to support with link and the quote of that dev.

The choice to have backticks as slot indicators in templates makes working with package/code templates really painful.

@Kuba There is a fairly high chance that the answer came from the same dev

@Szabolcs confront him anyway :)
I was really trying to make use of GitLink, but if it can't handle not staged yet directories and I need to RunProcess then I rather RunProcess everything. At the end when interaction is needed I have to go to the terminal as there is no way to provide credentials if asked.

Q: How to escape group's tokens in package's strings?

KubaSystemOpen @ Export[ FileNameJoin[{$TemporaryDirectory, "test.m" }] , "x = \" (* ::Chapter:: *) (* Metadata*) \"" , "Text" ] Well, I didn't expect this. And it wasn't how I faced it, I just had a string template for a package inside and when I reopened the file it was corrupted. ...

Introduction Recognizing words is one of the simplest tasks a human can do, yet it has proven extremely difficult for machines to achieve similar levels of performance. Things have changed dramatically with the ubiquity of machine learning and neural networks, though: the performance achieved by modern techniques is dramatically higher compared with the results from [...]

@halirutan. I downloaded version 1.3.8 of Mathematica Toolbar Buttons and installed it into NinjaKit. Everything works except the Ref button. The button appears but is inactive. (No pointing finger icon or tooltip on mouseover). I am running Safari 11.1 on macOS 10.13.4. Any advice on restoring the function of the Ref button?

It doesn't speak well of the health of this community that no one else wants to be a community moderator. I appreciate that it is an uncompensated and sometimes thankless role but I'm still saddened that there is not at least one member enthusiastic enough to step forward.

@Szabolcs If you end up abandoning WL please don't just disappear, but let me (or us) know where you went.
@JasonB. I've done that more than once. :^)

6:34 PM
@m_goldberg You are correct. I haven't noticed that the button stopped working because in Chrome it looks as usual but indeed does nothing. Sigh.. so much to fix so little time.

6:51 PM
@JasonB. @Mr.Wizard pff, couple of times I found answers, to present issues, written by me few years before :P

@Kuba Evidence that Mathematica causes insanity perhaps? ;-p

7:43 PM
@Mr.Wizard, I have considered it, but don't think I have enough reputation or more likely time at the moment.

@Mr.Wizard or lures insane people :)

@m_goldberg I'm sure I found the bug. SE has changed their HTML layout which resulted that the button war partially overlaid and not functional.

10:44 PM
@m_goldberg I fixed the bug and made some minor adjustments. Since stackexchange is now completely https://, I changed the site patterns. I have tried it locally and from the new 1.4.1 version that is now available in the Chrome store.
You can visit the GitHub repository and you'll find the new javascript sources.

@Mr.Wizard I've considered stepping forwards too, but I'm not sure I actually feel comfortable with SE's policies yet, both general and Mathematica.SE specific.
