Hrm. ToRadicals gives a sensible result on Sin[Pi/17], but not on RootReduce[Sin[Pi/17]].

Very annoying: Colorize[{{2, 3, 1}, {1, 2, 2}, {3, 1, 2}}, ColorFunction -> GrayLevel, ColorRules -> {1 -> Orange, 2 -> Blue, 3 -> Yellow, _ -> Green}]

These two ads didn't seem to get much support (compared to others I made). I would appreciate some feedback on them.
My motivation for making them was to encourage beginners to learn the basics, though I am not sure how good these books are. I wish they focused more on "everything is an expression", patterns and expression manipulation, and not so much on "things that look cool".

Hello, everyone, I would like to how to deal with the following question? Thanks!
I know putting struct first, then function declaration could deal with it, but obviously which is not a good solution.

@ShutaoTANG Why is it not a good solution? In fact it is required ... In those cases when it really cannot be done, we need to use something called a forward declaration (just google for it).

@J.M. I don't get it; what were you expecting?
12:04
You would want to get the same output as `MatrixPlot[{{2, 3, 1}, {1, 2, 2}, {3, 1, 2}},
ColorRules -> {1 -> Orange, 2 -> Blue, 3 -> Yellow, _ -> Green},
Frame -> False]`?
12:56
@Karsten7. Yes, something like that.
13:13
@J.M. Looks like there is a bug in Colorize.
doesn't produce the output shown in the documentation.
@Karsten7. Thanks for confirming; I'll be writing some people now... :)
13:31
@Szabolcs Thanks. In general, I know the function declaration is written in a separate *.h file.

Are there any official guidelines about working with PacletManager?

Q: Collaborators for projects

obsolescedI'm wondering whether it is appropriate to seek collaborators for Mathematica-related projects on Mathematica Stack Exchange. For example, would it be appropriate to post a question describing a potential Mathematica application, and ask if there are any parties interested in working on the appli...

You'd never guess when a question explodes ... I don't understand StackExchange:

Q: Why are the harmonics of a piano tone not multiples of the base frequency?

SzabolcsI was trying to figure out which piano keys were being played in an audio recording using spectral analysis, and I noticed that the harmonics are not integer multiple of the base note. What is the reason for this? Take a look at the spectrogram of a clean sample from a single piano key. I am...

I have the opportunity to play with a Rasberry Pi 2 equipped with a Touchscreen 7''. It doesn't seem possible to create a screen-sensitive Button[] with Mathematica. Any advices ?
20:37
@andre How would you make such a button with Java?
That would tell us a lot about how the touch screen works
The touch screen push obviously doesn't register as a mouse click
@Searke I don't know. I'm totally ignorant in Java
Or python or anything. We'd just need an idea of what is happening when touch screen is tapped. Obviously it's not a mouse event.
20:58
@Searke I don't have any idea of what's happening when the screen is tapped. I will try to get some infomations tomorrow, but i'm really a novice on this kind of thing. At the moment, I must leave. Be back tomorrow
