It’s a brançh I found on the sidewalk after a storm. Brooklyn ny. No leaves left on it. There are honey locusts planted on the street but this one was in front of an old house with like a dozen different kinds of trees in the yard, and I couldn’t find one with a broken branch.
It smells unpleasant when cut, like burnt popcorn. It’s also very dense, even considering it’s wet it’s very heavy, solid wood.
The color in the photo is pretty accurate.
