@BradP. What pic are you referring to? Thanks, by the way! :)

Yes, WORK ALL THE WOODS! ...nice.

There is was just a question (pets & wood) that I and someone else voted to close with comments, it looks like the author has deleted it. While I don't think this is the place for the question, I do think letting the question go through the close and open process is a good exercise for the site. If it could be restored that would be great.

To me it sounded like a near dupe of the child-safe wood question

drs
@JamesJenkins I agree it would be better to go through the process. Can it be restored?

I mean the premise sounds the same, make sure the chewer doesn't get poisoned
Also can we get the feeds up and running here?
I suggest new questions in the box up top and meta in chat

@JamesJenkins Yeah, I also V-T-C'd it, we should probably reach out to the asker and let him know that just because a question may be closed, it still has value.

@PeterGrace How do you reach out to the asker?

@drs ah, that is probably not possible the majority of the time, you're right. If we remembered who it was, we could ping them on another of their questions or answers, but as there are no moderators on the site yet nobody can go back and undelete I don't think. Let me ask.

maybe ask one of the staff?
they can moderate any site

Yeah, I work for stack exchange
I'm talking to the community team now
We aren't actually moderators on every site, btw
You have to have a proven need to have moderator before you get it (for instance, I'm a moderator on meta.se so that i can answer technical questions and change tags and such.) I'm a moderator on ServerFault because the community kept ribbing me that I couldn't approve my own edits on serverfault questions and they said "he's a sysadmin, just give him moderator and be done with it"
@ratchet @drs one of the community team undeleted it for us

Q: What woods or wood materials are unsafe for use in animal cages?

StampyCodeI want to build wooden toys/houses/things for caged pets, such as Degus, Hamsters, etc. I'm aware that there are chemicals and glues used to make some wood products, such as MDF which make the dust created by cutting it somewhat toxic to human health, but are there any woods or wood products (li...
