Completely new to python here, is an IDE for python that supports running commands while debugging?

That is, I can put a breakpoint in my code, run to that point, and execute commands in a command window calling on current variable values?
Preferably as simple as possible.
If this is possible in Pycharm/Visual Studio could someone please explain as I could not find
