No, wrong computer. I have four computers on my desk and it is on my personal laptop, not this desktop.
user114359
Now I can be all badass like Tank in The Matrix and have three LCDs going at once!
user114359
Although I do wonder where a post-apocalyptic underground society got the technology for LCD flat panels and hover-ships.
LCD flat panels are probably a pretty "meh" technology if you've got a sentient computer system
and uplinks directly into your brain
though they have a pretty godawful refresh rate it seemed lol
user114359
These are people dressed in scraps for clothing
In the future, poor people collect 30" LCDs along the roadside and trade them for food.
23:21
@Shog9 In Soviet Russia, 30" LCDs trade YOU!
user114359
@Shog9 Please don't spoil the new Mad Max movie for me!
user20683
@Snowman A South African woman reenacts her childhood with a British companion
user20683
:P
in the movie where they're watching neo fight morpheus on the monitors the monitors have like 2hz frame rate
user20683
23:23
@Shog9 Truman's Axiom. If you can't convince them, confuse them.
wait, this isn't The Tavern
2
I blame you, for putting The in the name
I wondered why durron was here.
user114359
This is just a bunch of Programmer nerds hanging out on a Friday night
@Shog9 Hey I'm in the Tavern sometimes
not me for much longer
user20683
some of us are presumably drunk
user20683
23:24
or getting there
user114359
Not me yet
user15026
Not me, no money for that
user20683
not I at all
user20683
I don't desire the only booze I have
user20683
it is amazingly terrible
23:24
I see how it is: I have to drink for all of you.
user114359
Waiting for my wife to get home then it is whiskey + grilling
user114359
But you see I have to wait, if I do too much whiskey first things don't end well. Like tripping coming in the door and dropping food all over the kitchen floor bad. Not that I have ever done that, of course.
@Shog9 I'm still at the office bleh
Vodka soon though.
user20683
@Snowman mix whiskey into BBQ sauce. You won't be sorry.
@WorldEngineer what is that?
user114359
23:27
@WorldEngineer I have done that before. Because Jack Daniels BBQ sauce is too "meh." Mixing in the real thing is pretty sweet.
user20683
@durron597 This vileness
user20683
user15026
@Shog9 Taking one for the team, huh?
@WorldEngineer srsly?
user114359
I also like sauteeing ground sirloin with a dash of Jack and using it to make spaghetti sauce. I have given myself a buzz from eating pasta that way.
23:28
@AshleyNunn the sacrifices I make for you people...
user20683
@durron597 my aunt gave me a bottle a couple of christmas ago
user15026
@WorldEngineer eeergh, yeah, that's not something to drink straight really.
user20683
@AshleyNunn not something to drink at all
user15026
@Shog9 I don't want to speak for the others, but I know I appreciate your sacrifice.
@WorldEngineer Could make fun chocolate milk out of it, perhaps?
user114359
23:28
That would be a mixer for froo-froo drinks.
user20683
I generally like herbal flavors
user20683
I'm a gin person
user20683
or Ouzo
user15026
@durron597 That might work.
user114359
Either that or a coffee mixer
23:29
im out of here
@WorldEngineer Ugh I ran out of sapphire
@Snowman it's good in coffee, yes
user15026
@Snowman I love froo-froo drinks :D
user114359
@whatsisname making a run for the liquor store?
Gotta remember to get more soon
user20683
23:29
@Snowman that was the idea my aunt had
just for home, got plenty of booze in stock
user20683
I suppose I could make some coffee and mix it in
user15026
I want either something with an umbrella, or a really nice dark beer. :P
@AshleyNunn I have abandoned dark beers in favor of ipas
of course, so is whiskey. And brandy. And vodka.
user114359
23:30
@AshleyNunn I will walk up to a bar and order a froo-froo drink with a shot of whiskey as a chaser. I get some funny reactions when I do that, but nobody ever threatens to revoke my man card.
user15026
@durron597 Those are good too :)
more tasty, less filling (so I can drink more of them, obviously)
user15026
@Snowman Oh, that works :)
user15026
@durron597 Oh, thats a tactic I had not considered!
@AshleyNunn I drink one guinness and I don't want anything more
23:31
@AshleyNunn you could always put an umbrella in your beer.
But with IPAs that doesn't happen.
user20683
@AshleyNunn Look up "Black Velvet Cocktail"
user15026
Once I have employment, I am going to take myself to a local pub thing (its in the park where the ducks are!) and just...drink all the craft beers and umbrella drinks!
user15026
@Shog9 I could! Might make it hard to drink, if it's in a bottle though.
pour into a schooner glass
user20683
23:32
@AshleyNunn how about I bring you whatever the max I can get into canada is and then we drink for the WB's amusement on camera?
Ok that's it, time to go to where my booze is. GN all
user15026
@WorldEngineer I don't think that is enough to get me interestingly drunk. My tolerance is pretty high :P
user20683
For reference, I am a Legendary Lightweight
user114359
Why does Visio pick the dumbest way to route arrows? Like I have two boxes right next to each other and I want a straight inheritance arrow between them. Visio routes that arrow through France and back again to get from point A to point B.
user15026
@Shog9 That would work.
23:33
@Snowman drop Visio and don't look back.
user15026
@WorldEngineer That sounds reasonably tasty, though I'd not use Guinness because I find it boring
user114359
@Shog9 What do you suggest I use for UML?
Drop that too
user20683
@AshleyNunn I'd use Black Rasputin
actually, drop that first. Visio is less bad
user20683
23:33
or MacAustlin Imperial
user20683
Then there's the In Fashion which is a Kriek+a citrus liquer + Bourbon
user114359
@Shog9 eh, class diagrams can be useful. Not in a "I need 900 pages of waterfall documentation useful" but "I want to model this tricky module" useful or "I want to explain something to this guy" useful.
user15026
My goal, when I have some more space, is to get enough interesting things to make my own umbrella drinks in my house.
user20683
@Snowman or I need a powerpoint background to gesture at
UML is occasionally useful as a machine-generated format for existing codebases. Never seen it go well as an input though.
user20683
23:35
@Shog9 input into BAs and watch bullshit come out
user114359
I only use it in a whiteboard fashion to explain a design to someone.
and see, on an actual whiteboard you can route the arrows whereever you damn well please. Even put amusing loops in them to signify the abject confusion that will soon follow.
But yeah - you wouldn't write an essay by first diagramming all the sentences you planned on writing. At best, you'd write an outline. Using text.
user20683
23:57
Buckethead has released some stuff on Band Camp. I'd forgotten just how good a guitarist he is
