Q: Is this equation correct ? And if it isn't what would it contribute to math if it was?

Ali HimeurI have an hypothesis and I tried a lot of prime numbers on it and it worked , so if this hypothesis is correct ; How can it contribute to math ? Let $y$ be a non-zero natural number; Let $p_y$ (X) be the $y$th natural number, indexing from 1. E.g. $p_1 = 2$. Let $\sigma_1(y)$ be the divisor sum ...

Q: 5 new results on Conway's 99-graph problem

Bertrand HaskellA year ago I started working on Conway's 99-graph problem. I want to verify the following results of this work to continue my struggling. Are there any crucial or minor mistakes? Since there is a lot of text, I will appreciate your remarks on some of five parts. $$\color{blue}{\text{I. Conway's 9...

@MartinR That PSQ has been undeleted by the usual PSQ-protectors. @Peter @JoséCarlosSantos: More delete-votes needed, thanks!
@SineoftheTime That PSQ is up for deletion.
@user21820 one more delete-vote needed.
@Peter Thanks!

Are several moderators still striking because of AI-generated posts ? Why is this isuue so difficult to be solved ?
:64027846 Actually I did delete-vote in the first found (so I cannot do it again, unfortunately).
@MartinR: I just realized...
XD
@Peter I don't know, but I haven't seen any update on the matter yet..
Hmm I just checked.. here is an update 6 hr ago:

A: Moderation Strike update: Data dumps, choosing representatives, GPT data, and where we’re holding

Zoe is on strikeNegotiation updates are primarily posted on Discord. For those without access to Discord for any reason, here's a summary (that will be updated as the negotiations progress, though with some delay after the Discord announcements) of the progress so far: 2023-06-13: Negotiations started; logistic...

> Issue: Stack Exchange, Inc. made inappropriate comments to the press.
> Result: Apparently, the statements sent out in Philippe's name did not undergo his approval and were put together by a PR team. In light of that, Stack Exchange, Inc. will commit to having at least one member of the Community Management Team approve any press comments that involve moderation.
> Stack Exchange, Inc. will also commit to only speaking about moderation and mods in the most general of terms and not comment on specifics; this would, for instance, preclude comments stating that the reason that the mods were on strike is because of AI detector tools.
> Issue: There is no recourse if Stack Exchange, Inc. breaks the Moderator Agreement.
> Result: Stack Exchange, Inc. will commit to issuing an apology to Meta.SE and retracting any actions taken that were found to have broken the Agreement, as determined by a consensus of moderators. Currently, that consensus would require at least 20% of Stack Exchange network moderators to vote on whether or not the Agreement was violated, with at least 90% of respondents agreeing that it was violated. [...]
Surprisingly:
> Both of these changes will be enshrined in the Mod Agreement and will be subejct to the standard feedback and review process for changing the Agreement.
So maybe something good is coming out of the strike...
This artificial intelligence is an invention of the devil. And far too many people consider ChatGPT as a great thing. Depressing indeed.
You can share examples of its stupidity to demonstrate that it is just a fad. I don't think there's anything else we can do, since people always want to see the 'good side' and not 'all sides'.
And here is a news article that is still too positive about chatgpt but at least not too blind.

@user21820 It's gone.
@JoséCarlosSantos Thanks!

A: Requests for Reopen & Undeletion Votes (volume 01/2022 - today)

GEdgarHERE is one. It came to the front page again today. Over the years, many posts have asked this same question: compute $\displaystyle\int \frac{dx}{1+x^4}$ . They have all been merged into this one. It should be reopened. It can serve as the target for any future duplicates.

Q: Composition in monoid of multi-valued functions generated by Collatz $f$ and its inverse image $f^{-1}$ is compatible with an equivalence relation?

Daniel DonnellyPlease see this wiki subsection before commenting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collatz_conjecture#Extensions_to_larger_domains So over all integers as inputs, the Collatz conjecture is, roughly speaking, that under iteration by the Collatz function $f$, you will eventually reach one of the loo...

Q: Shortcut Collatz function satisfies a particular functional equation. Has this approach been studied yet, and if so where are the reference articles?

Daniel DonnellyLet $M = 2\Bbb{Z} + 1$ or $2 \Bbb{N} + 1$ where $0 \in \Bbb{N}$, this approach will probably play well with both forms. Define the shortcut Collatz function to be: $$ f : M \to M \\ f(x) = \dfrac{3x + 1}{2^{\nu_2(3x + 1)}} $$ where $\nu_2(z)$ is the common notation meaning the maximum exponent $...
