Ugh... one of the answers starts out with "this is too broad, but imma answer it anyway."
It is pretty opinion based, too. But the lack of focus really leapt out at me... :\

@Peter My main problem with the question is not that it's basic, but that anyone who even bothers to do a multiplication on paper would know that (by the elementary-school method) the last digit of the output only depends on the last digits of the inputs.

I am not sure whether I should have answered this question ? It is a useful alternative method (useful also for future readers) , but on the other hand the OP did not invest much effort. Shall I delete it again ? Opinions, please.

@XanderHenderson Seems opinion-based to me. As described in the post, visulaizations of proofs are rarely possible.

this post might be undeleted. Consider that it contained an ugly (now deleted) reply of the author to the given (helpful) comment. So should it be undeleted, please help to delete it again.

@Peter I'd wait on it. We can revisit it (I'll pin it for a few days).

Is it clear what the question is here? Is it narrowly enough scoped? Two self-made regular proofs regarding real numbers, are they correct?‭ - Math3147‭ 2021-09-04 06:39:57Z

@XanderHenderson It is not, IMO. (I had already left some comments, but the questions hasn't been improved.)

@XanderHenderson @TeresaLisbon: Both question and answer have been upvoted in the few days since it was mentioned in this room. Clearly this is not just a coincidence. Although it is an old post, the upvoters appear to want to preserve bad questions, and also reward the asker and answerer for that.

@user21820 Only one more delete needed.
@JoséCarlosSantos Already voted to delete both, I noticed the first is now gone, the other has two delete votes.
@amWhy Thanks!
@user21820 I can contribute a downvote, as well, in almost 2 hours, too.
@amWhy Thanks!

@user21820 Ugh... how annoying.
@user21820 Thanks.
@XanderHenderson Talk about having your finger on the pulse of this site!! Nice job in meta.

This is about to be reopened unless we get a third delete vote, @user21820, though it seems not to have been successful in the reopen queue.
Going to watch a movie tonight, @Xander? Or relax to a good dinner?

@amWhy I might go to sleep early. I taught until 8:45 on Thursday (didn't get home until 9:30), and ended up being up rather late last night working on an exam (which I didn't finish). I'm sort of half tempted to grab a bottle of wine, make some popcorn, watch some bad television, and got to bed a 6. :\
@XanderHenderson Sounds good to me! What's the outlook for your semester? I sure hope it's not the challenge you faced in summer, with so little "face time"!
Everything is online. Even in pre-pandemic times, about half of the classes I teach would be remote (me in one classroom, most of my students in five or six other classrooms).
And I've got just over 18 load this semester (1.9 more load, and they would have to start paying me the "big" bucks). Two sections of calculus, and four sections of precalc.
Though I only have about 90 students altogether, so it isn't necessarily the worst semester I've had---a couple of extra contact hours every week is offset by the relatively small class sizes.
@XanderHenderson Wow! Tall order, but you always seem to rise to the occasion. How's the NEXT program going? (correct me if I'm off on the name).
@amWhy MathFest was fun, I got a lot of good ideas from the other NExT participants, and we have some meetings in the next couple of weeks. Thus far, it seems to be fruitful.
@XanderHenderson Awesome!
(Awesome might be out of date, but it's newer than "Far Out!")
^^^ Appropriate comments, @MartinR, good job.

@amWhy I have a text file with about 15 frequently used comments (essentially from our “List of comment templates”), so this is just copy/paste.
@MartinR That's a great idea!
