All I'm sayin' @user21820 is that I will think and delay any possibly appropriate action on the next HNQ you complain about, since it seems to me, that your complaint about them varies depending on whether or not you participate in answering them or not. Congrats on all ur rep, btw.
If I remember correctly, @user21820 You called me out once for answering a question you didn't think should be answered. If you feel authorized to dish it out to others, what makes you so different, when you do what you condemn regularly?

@amWhy My complain about them does not vary depending on my participation. As I said before, I am mostly against people trying to get others to do their work for them. A lot of times, HNQs are of that kind, and should in my opinion be closed quickly. I have much less issue with questions stemming from curiosity, as long as it can be reasonably interpreted to fit the site. That last part is subjective, so other users are free to close the question if they think it's off-topic.
I'm not doing anything at all to impede that process.
@amWhy Can you cite that incident?
*complaint

@user21820 bolagna If that's the narrative you want to cover yourself with, so bit it. But I called it like I see it. You slammed more HNQ than anyone else on MSE, and not all were PSQ's.

@amWhy Again, please cite the incidents.
I'm not trying to be difficult. I really have difficulty identifying what part of my actions you find inconsistent.
If I am actually inconsistent, I will try to fix it.

Right now, @user21820 I'm done on this site. I've seen it all on this site. I'm just done on this site. Best to you all. I'll probably peek in over the next week, maybe post some bounty's on unanswered questions. But I'm wrapping up my time here. Cheers.
Cheers to you, too @XanderHenderson. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!

Sure. But if I can't take a look at incidents where I am inconsistent, I can't correct them. Also, after reading your recent comments I get the feeling that you may have something against the title of that particular HNQ. I did not realize that aspect earlier, and had read the word "milk" without associating it with cows at all.
@amWhy: If it is acceptable to you, I can edit the question to remove that word.

1:14 AM
I saw the title as click bait; nothing unusual, but clickbait. It wasn't because "milk" was in the in the title, indeed, it simply made clear it was about milking rep. I flagged the post long before you answered, and it was deemed helpful, one former mod and one current mod voted for it's closure. Of course other users voted to reopen twice. I am not saying I'm write or your wrong or anything. It's just an example to me, how quickly positions change when there's rep to back one up

Yes I saw that @XanderHenderson and @JyrkiLahtonen and @DanielFischer all agree with you that it is off-topic, so the moderators are free to close and delete the post directly using their moderator powers.
@amWhy Would it really make any difference to you if I delete my post? As I said, I did not post with points in mind.
That's why I hardly answer HNQs unless they are in logic and well-asked.
And I can see why you think "milk" was put in the title to be click-bait, though I honestly can't tell whether the author intentionally did that or not.

Then after two years, a bounty. Because brute force solutions aren't good enough.

@user21820 Please don't delete it. It has some interesting links (for example this).

7:05 AM
@MartinSleziak I had posted an answer, but I deleted it almost immediately because of the lack of context. Thanks for the link to the better question. I will look at it and consider posting my answer there.

@robjohn Thanks for the response. In fact, I did not notice that the answer was deleted by the owner (=you) and not together with the question, until you now mentioned this explicitly.

7:32 AM
@MartinSleziak I reposted my answer. The fact that my answer was written without using $L=2$ means I didn't have to rewrite anything.

Thanks! I will definitely have a look.

@amWhy Your frustration is my frustration (or at least very similar). I am not sure that targeting (fully deserving) individuals with negative attention will work, because the problems are more likely systemic. Yes, it is one way of "educating" them, but not effective. I decided to ask for help from outside Math.SE.

@user21820 I would not ask you to remove a post you apparently posted in good faith. That would have to be, as always, up to you, with respect to what you post and what you don't post, and whether and when, if ever, to delete a post.

Oh god. I hate it when non-mathematical questions have a thin veneer of mathematics and they get all these votes, and super-highly-voted answers. :|

@AsafKaragila Oye!

3:56 PM
@amWhy It's sad. But there's like a 100% of this getting some reopen votes, and a 40% of actually getting reopened.

@AsafKaragila I know :(

user131753
@AsafKaragila Can you give some examples?

@user170039 Huh? Examples?

user131753
@AsafKaragila Yes.

@user170039 I still don't follow.

user131753
3:58 PM
@AsafKaragila Like examples of questions like that which are getting some reopen votes.

@user170039 Since not all reopening examples are successful, I can't quite tell you about that. But just wait and see.

user131753
@AsafKaragila Sure. You mentioned that earlier, "...and a 40% of actually getting reopened".

@user170039 And I have neither the time nor the inclination to find examples. So you can just search for yourself. Look for questions which are (1) highly voted (say >10), and (2) closed. If you're "lucky", they went through a reopening/closure cycle.
@user170039 Yes. And what if this is just 29% or 36.7545235489234567982346759876897% or maybe 42.424242424242%? You do know that when people say these kind of things, they don't mean literally those numbers, right? They just mean about their feeling, their estimation. And much like most estimations, it's probably wildly incorrect.

user131753
@AsafKaragila I see. But without some concrete examples, it is difficult to take your statement as a fact, but merely as a feeling.

user131753
@AsafKaragila To be sure, I didn't mean that exactly 40% of those type of questions had been reopened. I just wanted to be have some concrete evidence to your feeling and/or estimation that "a 100% of this getting some reopen votes". That would help the people whose frequent this room more often (and are active) to do something (like, e.g., close) about them (if it is needed, of course).

4:17 PM
@user170039 You are clearly a frequentist. I assume that @AsafKaragila's estimate is a given from the point of view of Bayesian priors.
From that point of view, a "gut feeling" is a good enough reason. :P
@user170039 For another example, try searching MSE for "Batman".
Be sure to sort by votes.

user131753
4:30 PM
@XanderHenderson But not an activist, I suppose.

user131753
@XanderHenderson The revision history for that question (I suppose you also meant the same question) is unusual.

Q: isometry of vector spaces

vsk1996 I don't know how to show explicitly that direct sum satisfy isometry of bilinear space please help it out.

@user170039 Yeah, already 4 reopen votes after there was an edit that made it clear how unmathematical this question is.

5:27 PM
@vsk1996 This room is for discussing the Closure, Reopening, Undeletion, Deletion, or Editing of questions on MSE. Do you want us to close the linked question? Or edit it somehow? What do you want us to do with it?

sorry for that

5:52 PM
@AsafKaragila anyone for a third closure?

Q: Number = Angles

Ed PeggI saw this post by Associazione culturale di Amicizia Iraq Italia. I like most of these, but I'm not all that happy with the 9. Can someone make a better 9 with 9 angles? I'd likely go for a more digitalclock-type 8. Other number improvements would also be okay. EDIT: Here's a bette...

6:33 PM
Do math problems have types?

user131753
The discussion related to @JyrkiLahtonen's comment here is being done in the following room,

7:06 PM
@XanderHenderson No, but each question posted to MSE has a top-secret id number to identify and track it's user for ever and ever.

7:33 PM
can i dip into negative rep?

7:57 PM

@PeterSheldrick Like borrowing against it (as in a loan), with the promise to "repay"? It depends on your "reputation"...

9:02 PM
Happy Friday, Everyone!! (And for others, I'll share a happy Saturday!) (For those who are still in Friday, you get a bonus greeting of both Happy Friday, and then, return within say, twelve hours or so, and the Happy Saturday then applies!!.)
@DanielFischer You'll have to look rather quickly to get the Happy Friday (aka TGIF) greeting. Come back at your convenience to read the following, as well: Happy Saturday too!

Thanks. Still almost an hour of Friday here.

@DanielFischer Enough for a pint (or two), no? I thought I'd give you heads up about looking rather quickly, given the pace mods work at :P

It would be if I had any beer in the house.

@DanielFischer Oh shucks. Enjoy the beverage of the evening, then!

@amWhy I think I'm through with drinking for today. Dropping in bed soon.

9:14 PM
@DanielFischer When you do, sweet dreams. :)

9:33 PM
Gonna go get the kid from day care in a few minutes, then go home, make a martini, and play MarioKart with her until bedtime.
Laters.

9:46 PM
@XanderHenderson Enjoy, you, the martini, and your daughter, playing MarioKart, and her whipping your butt!

@XanderHenderson That's what I said, but then I happily retagged the question to indicate what type of question it was ...
