@SaaruLindestøkke I use shoe covers that extend partially up my calves from a company called GripGrab. I then put my rain pants over the calf part
Kinda expensive and a bit annoying to put on, but they're very effective

@gschenk Ah, that's not a good sign
I appreciate the thought regardless

@MaplePanda I think many companies here would be willing to do this. It's just a lot of paperwork. Check LinkedIn, Xing, Glassdoor.
I don't think you need a sponsor, the company just needs to confirm that they're hiring you. And probably help you find an apartment. The visa application process is complicated and can take months though, as there is a lot of forms and stamps involved (we don't believe in computers).

For someone who wants to know more about moving to Germany the YouTube channel Type Ashton, started as The Black Forest Family has a lot of information. In short, they are very happy to have made the move.

Yeah there's a LOT of expats here, particularly in the big cities. At my last job there was a canadian coworker who seemed to like it here 😉
It's probably beneficial to not just do an internship but indicate that you'd wish to continue full-time after finishing studies

I've seen a Canadian a few minutes ago who seems to like it here.

As a Canadian you do not need a Visa for an internship in Germany. You have to apply for a permit once you arrived in Germany though. The big advantage use that you can start without waiting for all formalities and you do not need a sponsor that has to pay in case you screw up.
