@PaulH poor guy, all that money but no time and energy for bicycling
ARGHHH, Garmin Edge. Worst. Firmware. Ever.
tried to turn it on this morning, refused to turn on. Turns out it somehow dropped to 0% battery. Probably got stuck turning off/going to sleep.
last week it refused to display the map so I had to navigate 92km by just following the track displayed on a white background

@Michael Like a peasant who uses a cheap bike computer šŸ˜„
06:30
@Erlkoenig yeah, it worked surprisingly okay-ish
06:53
@Michael Don't worry, the industry is tirelessly working on making worse firmware every day
@Erlkoenig yes, it had like 20 firmware updates
07:21
Rule #1: Get the firmware update process working, everything else can be fixed later šŸ¤£

We set up a new site with some industrial devices we been using for years. All fails. Firmware 2.0.0.

Sounds like Second-system effect šŸ˜

@Erlkoenig Rule #2: a device that works well doesn't have enough features.

A device that works well doesn't sell well...
> The fact that this rice cooker worked for 25+ years of constant usage without fail makes me want to praise its engineers -- and the fact that the new model is identical to the old suggests they knew they got it right.

Wenn is it so difficult to contact craftsmen/builders? They "we should talk in a call". Me: "I'm free <time> just tell me when" Them: no reply Me: more tries Them: nothing. Me: "Would you like me to call at <concrete time>. Them: nothing. Me: "sorry for being so rude, I'll try to call you at <precise time> . Them: "You are interrupting my [work|dinner|family time]."
@Michaelcomelately they are so expensive. But also so good.
@Erlkoenig Japanese market is a bit different in that regard.
possibly. Here, you can even face ridicule when buying something expensive, even if it's more durable than the competition...
@Michael sigh...that is awfully relatable but i dont even have the money
15:27
@Erlkoenig about 250ā‚¬ more expensive in case of Zojirushi

@gschenk Don't tell me, I recently had the case for refurbishing a bathroom. I ended up doing it myself. (professional) tooling is less expensive than labor. It took a few week-ends to do it, but because of bad planning (we started the demolition ourselves counting on their availability, but they didn't come...). My surprise was the margin they take on the furniture/tiles (around 50%), so it means that if you say that you already have the stuff and they just have to come, they won't ...
grml Look Keo Blade blades worn to the point that I can just unclip by lifting up my feet -.-
...because their hourly rate should be closer to a lawyer than what they officially invoice to make the same profit.
wear and decay everywhere! Nothing lasts :(
@Michael SPD rules!

@RŠµnŠ°ud it has so much play in every direction
