@gschenk It was everything except dry 🤣
It's actually a good thing, it demonstrates that cycling in bad weather is possible.

@gschenk oh no, what happened?
question: How do you make sure your brake hose flare nut is tightened to the correct torque? I can only find this torque wrench adapter and it's unvailable everywhere
r2-bike.com/PRO-Adapter-Maulschluessel-8-mm-fuer-1-4-Aufnahme
I could measure the length of my 8mm wrench and just attach the right amount of mass on the other end to achieve 5Nm of torque

@Michael This thing is called "Krähenfuß" in German, you should be able to find alternatives from ordinary tool vendors
But I think everyone just does it by feel...

@Erlkoenig sounds risky considering it’s for brakes and the brake lever threads are known to crack easily
i.redd.it/…
old version, but I can’t imagine the new version is superstrong either
(though judging by the wear marks on the nut in the photo someone really used a lot of torque)
Erlkoenig
Ah that nut, don't have experience with that one

@Michael I just do it by feel. You don't need a crazy amount of torque--you're just trying to fully deform the olive and get it seated
those attachments are called "crows foot wrench" if you want

@Michael barelled at tremendous speed into some small kids who were dilly-dallying at the run-out of a water slide.
