@MaplePanda great solving on the brake levers. I'd suggest buying a cheap set of taps - they're surprisingly useful. M3 M4 M5 M6 are the ones you're likely to use on a bike, along with both 9/16" 20 TPI for pedal cranks. I wish I had a pair of BB taps, but they're silly-expensive.

Those screws you found to use are probably imperial - computer stuff is like bike stuff, can be a weird mix of metric and imperial.
