I realised that when offered to choose between two options "I do not care" is quite rude. I think I have to consider the phrases I use without giving much thought to avoid behaving atrociously.
I shall try to get used to "I should love one as much as the other" in case of gif things and "I do not mind" in cases where either is not all that desirable.
Cheers David Richerby, cannot remember having seen you in chat but I read navy of your diverge on SE proper.
@DavidRicherby I thought I did it 51 times, so yeah lucky on that one! And I had at least 8 funny looks all from car drivers. For a dead-end street there were a lot of cars.
@gschenk "you choose" "what's your preference?" "I'm easy" "whichever you want to do" "the easiest/quickest/simpliest one"
Though if you go to Google Street View and look perpendicular to the direction of the road, it's easy to believe that the slope is at about 10deg, e.g., when you look at it against somebody's house.
The base of the wall at the lower-left of that image is basically 10deg (as measured by holding a piece of paper against it, then changing tab to your handy protractor).
(And I mean "about ten degrees, which is the same thing as about eight degrees", not "about ten degrees, which is obviously way more than eight degrees.")
Heh - yeah there's the distortoion between the inside and outside of the turn as well. We know the outside of a turn covers more distance for the same elevation change so its a smaller grade / lower angle.
I've been trying to find something on better falling from ones bike on SE. It sometimes reads as if cycling were a crazy hazardous extreme sports. It starts with Helmets, then gloves with protectors and goes to cycle only with tough clothing covering everything.
