Yep. Got that one.

user55340
Its a "decline all flags on question"

user55340
can't just do one and not the other.

user41796
@Ampt neither do the rest of us. It's just a facade we maintain

user55340
@GlenH7 I'm still going with leslar being a dumb teen too.

Hi all.

user41796
9:04 PM
@MichaelT I'd be curious to see the range of IP addresses he's come in with.

user41796
@MartijnPieters - hola!

I see my Looks Good vote on this post is being discussed.
I very much doubt that my LG vote blocked the post from being deleted.

user41796
@MartijnPieters and @gnat just left the room

Rather, the fact that the OP edited the post after my vote is what kicked it from the queue.
It was @gnat who poked me in a comment elsewhere.
I replied to him already. :-)
I stand by my vote, however; the post was an attempt at answering the question. It was not an attempt at commenting.

user41796
I'm pulling up the chat history as we had been kicking about another low quality review at the same time.

@MartijnPieters As I see it, it was Jalayn who did the Looks good (you had a recommend deletion), and as a review/LQ, I don't believe the 'is it an answer' is the consideration, but rather 'is it a good answer'

If it is a bad answer, you downvote.
Low Quality reviews are about weeding out the non-answers.

user55340
I still think you did a RD rather than LG...

I can't see the answer; it's been deleted and I am <10k.
on programmers, anyway..

user55340
Can't see your own review? Hmmpf.

I can see what I voted.
Just not what I voted on.

user55340
9:10 PM

Yes, that'd be a deletion vote; link-only answer.
Totally useless, unsalvageable, because there was no text whatsoever to motivate the linked products.

user41796
@MartijnPieters - so on the IE6 question, you voted to delete which is what the mob / crowd consensus was on the question. And you left a comment, so extra points there

And you cannot, as an editor, pull those out of thin air.

user55340
@MartijnPieters The OP also defended it...

user41796
On the IOS question, you voted LG but you left a comment asking the answerer to expand their answer, which they never did.

user41796
9:12 PM
Your votes were good in my book.

user41796
I think the confusion was with the LG vote on the IE6 question where that LG voter did not leave a comment

@MartijnPieters I don't think anyone was saying your votes were wrong mate :) We're all just mortals here. Except for @JimmyHoffa. He's a computer.

user55340
@GlenH7 oh, here's a fun comment...

user55340
I am my own professor; I don't attend college now. I am just formulating and challenging against the reasoning behind those who say electrons move "slowly". What is "slow"? — Andy Harglesis 1 hour ago

user55340
You know you want to...

user41796
9:14 PM
@MartijnPieters FWIW, I'm good with your voting record as I thought I could see where you were coming from on your votes.

user55340
I'd be tempted to post an MSO question of "require upvoters and looks good reviewers to add a comment" if I didn't believe it would get dv'ed to oblivion.

I wasn't worried. :-)
Perhaps Gnat was..
In any case, cheerio all, time for turning in.

That question reeks of effort to use big words....
I remember drawing these in physics
that was tedious

user55340
There's a reason I avoided the 'practical' physical sciences (I took two semesters of Astronomy).

My only options were practical ones... stupid engineering curriculums.

10:14 PM
@MartijnPieters thanks. I only wanted to make sure that you're aware of the guidelines when voting. As for another review, you can't see the post because it has been deleted by a moderator (and there was another user who aborted review by LG there, not you)

Q: Could I start an "essential things you need to know about X" wiki on SO or programmers.SE?

djechlinIf you follow my SO activity for the day, you'll notice I've learned quite a bit about MySQL transactions inside stored procedures. In fact, I've learned many things about MySQL transactions that are completely essential to doing them properly, yet if you read documentation on MySQL transactions...

Q: Favorite responses to homework assignments

tbodtI see a lot of questions that are homework assignments, and I see some interesting comments on those. For example: Thank you for sharing your assignment. Now do it. Does anyone else have any more of these?

recommended reading: Open letter to students with homework problems "It is September once again (today is the 7316th day of September), and once again students are asking their homework problems on Stack Overflow and Programmers.SE..."gnat 55 secs ago

@GlenH7 I should have just checked with the "deleted questions" in the 10k tools - its still in the recent list.

user55340
That said, why does the roomba run against M.?.SE? Its a meta site...

psr
@Ampt And the one answer seems like it might be his friend trolling with him. Note that the question has 1 favorite vote, which seems highly unlikely otherwise.

user55340
@psr There are some people who occasionally use the favorites as a reminder of things to cv or delvote. There are some people who favorite their own questions for some reason.

user55340
Now if you really want to tweak @gnat, try to get that question into the collider...

@Ampt Get those profs to consider what-if.xkcd.com/63

user55340
@psr with that tweaking gnat thing, I initially wrote twerk... but that had nightmarish visions pop into my mind. I could share them with you if you want...

psr
@MichaelT I would have to start flagging like crazy, as a service to humanity if not for my own mental health.
