If one'd like to conduct a research of, by and for the programmers' community how should one go about getting folks from programmers.SE to contribute?
Since a lot of people struggle with selecting a programming language for their upcoming project or new venture idea, I thought it'd be a good idea to gather the 'criteria for selection' and then community's 'scoring' of a language against each of the criteria (relative scoring only, absolute if the need be)
I would collect that data (which would be open to start with) and create a simple decision making model to help folks rank order the various criteria (that they choose) and help rank order the programming language choices w.r.t. them. (not simple weight * score but a bit more mathematically inclined) - and have it opened up for all to use?
Oh, primarily focusing on the top 10-15 languages in the TIOBE index to start with...
