@MichaelT Didn't Winnie the Pooh fall out of one of those?

@MichaelT just Wikipedia like.. 2 months ago. I'm probably dead wrong or thinking about a different data structure

@JimmyHoffa RFC 1882 is a humor one from '95 akin to Yannis MSO link. It has an amusing narrative woven into the comments on each item.

@YannisRizos While I am sure you cannot say, it would be interesting to hear some stats on how many people fail the audit some number of times.

@MichaelT I have no idea, we don't really have access to such stats. And we have no idea if someone is currently post/edit/review banned, all the autobans are completely outside our control.
The review audits/ban are fairly new, I don't think there are enough data yet to tell if they are effective or not, even on SO. In a couple of months, you should ask on MSO for stats, I don't think SE will have any problem sharing anonymized stats, they've done it before.

Q: Revoke review queue badges after an audit

ManishearthA user with 5 review queue badges recently got a 7 day review ban after hitting too many audits Shouldn't his stats/badges take a hit1 in such cases? Even better, keep a warning on the queue (or at least on the first failed audit message) that "badges/stats will be revoked if you hit too many au...

Tim Post's answer there is interesting.
> Instead of yanking badges, let's make them harder only for people gaming the system to earn. Add a criteria that you must complete the tasks while passing 95% of the audits presented to you. If you pass 1k reviews and failed more than 5% of the audits, you've just put the badge permanently out of reach. In other words, nobody did this to you, you did it to yourself.

How about a 'tin badge' where these are badges of dubious merit. Though, yes, I know some people hold all badges to be good badges.

The "all badges should encourage good behaviour" mantra is actually the official policy, SE has denied every request for badges of dubious merit.

I suspected that was the case. Its good policy. Achievements of dubious merit encourage misbehavior from some who have the "gotta get them all" mentality.

I'd tend to suggest revoking all badges for reviews, change the requirements to include audits, and start over.

It’s that most wonderful time of the year again — time for the Stack Overflow Annual Survey! So, put down that third glass of eggnog and fire up a new tab. It only takes a few minutes – and there are stickers!

As the name suggests, we’ve been doing this for a few years now (here are the 2010 results and the 2011 results for your perusal) and we always learn a lot from them. This data is used to support the advertising we sell on Stack Overflow and Server Fault. Advertising helps keep the lights on (and servers humming) around here, so if you use either (or both!) sites, we urge you to participate. …
