@MartinSleziak Thanks for the dummy post. I think the algebraic topology chat is dead, the purpose it was supposed to serve was very localized: a few people (including me) started studying the topic of the room and hence started a chat where we could freely discuss about it and learn. That purpose has been served - the past members are now gone/not that active and it can only be revived if another group of topology enthusiasts stumble upon this room. The chances of that is very slim.
If there is some chance that the activity will increase again if some new users start posting there, then the probability is certainly bigger during the academic year.
So if you do not mind, I will keep posting dummy posts for a bit longer. (Of course, only if they are needed - if there is no other activity in the room.)
However, keeping room alive in this way is the only contribution I can make here. (I was taught some basics long time ago, but I have forgotten most of it.)
If there is no activity for some longer period (say 3 months) we can revisit whether this room should be abandoned.
BTW if you search this room for messages containing the word dummy, you can see that in 2016 I have posted only 3 messages to keep the room alive "artificially".
This is actually not too bad compared with some other rooms I keep alive in this way. Although other users might feel that many of them should already have been abandoned.
I have tried to sketch my opinion why using specialized room might be useful on meta and also very briefly in some conversations in chat.
