I find it funny how, in my company, I can just download and install all the costly commercial tools and somebody starts paying license fees in the background. On the other hand, there seems to be no way to have my company pay for Vim sponsorship.
It's not that they refuse to do it. I simply don't know whom to ask. Whenever I bring this up, people stare blankly, shrug and confess they don't know. There seems to be no process to get any software package added to the list of company approved tools.
