So, @Richard, will you let your quest for rep get in the way of moderating? Will it be put on hold?

@SQB - I don't see the two things as conflicting. I tend to answer a couple of questions a day and spend the remainder of my time on the site editing/improving my own and others posts, monitoring the review queue and chatting. I think being a moderator would fit in nicely with that.

A: 2015 Moderator Election Q&A - Question Collection

SQBHow would you handle a user giving unwanted attention to another user, either on the main site or in chat? That attention could be any kind, from romantic interest to unwarranted negative comments (and serial downvoting, but that's usually caught by the site).

@Richard Posed as a general question, about a recent issue for you. But I'm also interested in finding out how others would've handled it.
And come to think of it, if and how the current mods handled it, but that's a bit out of scope.

@SQB - I'll answer this one more fully if it gets asked during the election phases but I'd say it boils down to three steps; 1) Identify if offense was intentional, or what was said was liable to cause offense 2) Act firmly. No-one should feel uncomfortable on the site 3) Communicate with both parties to ensure that they understand your decisions.

@Mooz Straight up disagreement is pretty rare. Most disagreement is more of a question of degrees. Like if there's a bad post, we'll agree it's bad, but the extent of how bad and specifics on actions might vary a bit. Lots of compromise/discussion is common.
We benefit heavily from being able to discuss with each other, with other SE mods, and SE employees.
Feel free to ask us mods things. We're happy to provide info.
@Keen Yeah it's cool to hear things like that. Mods pretty much have their own sub-community.
