Such loyalty no matter what, to one another, among mods, traditionally, is far more damaging to the sight that non-mod users' "voting rings", because they refuse to implicate one another in any misbehavior, and even if they disagree with another mod, they publicly vouch for them on site, except in one extreme circumstance, with an extreme moderator back in 2012.

@ArcticChar That is an unfortunate situation, although I don't see OP refusing to un-accept the answer. It seems that it was just left as is. In any case, in principle we don't do much regarding wrong answers, but given the reach of the question, I'll make an exception. Since the OP seems active, I'll give a pointer to the situation. @AloizioMacedo I agree that the mod team in general do not act on wrong answers. But this one is quite annoying (given the reach and the quality of the other answers), more so because they are ex-mods and I expect them to know/care more about the sites. (I saw that left a comment in the post, thanks for that)
