OK. In my experience, partial application and currying are not common techniques among mainstream programmers. Advanced programmers know that they exist, but they don't use them much. — Barmar 22 secs ago

You've stumbled across one of programming's greatest paradoxes, known to so called experts as "el Camino Real," loosely translated as "highest number riddle" which at this time remains unsolved but it's important to remember that that most important discoveries are made by people under the age of 30, people just like you. I just used the word 'that' two times in a row in that last sentence, but much like Patrick Jane from the hit TV show "The Mentalist," sometimes programmers have to break the rules to clearly bring a blurry problem into focus. This is metaphoric bluririness, not literal as y — Chad Decker 28 secs ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. This question is far too broad in scope for this site. We don't write tutorials here. You should spend some time taking the tour and reading through the help center pages in order to better familiarize yourself with the types of question that should be asked here. When you have a specific question related to code or a programmers tool, we can try to help. Good luck. — Ken White 25 secs ago

@QualityCatalyst I'm a beginning software engineer so I don't know where I can find an architect that fast. What I do understand is that SOA might be a better solution than microservices so I will take a look at SOA. I already worked with this at school so I know the basics. — Yannick 1 min ago

@QualityCatalyst there might be an architect over there but the main reason they want a microservice is because one of the programmers recommends it (he thinks it is better, faster, etc.) . I know he haven't look further so that's why I also look for some better solutions. — Yannick 52 secs ago

Windows has multiple text rendering engines, all retained to keep old programs running. The one that DrawString uses is a pretty wonky one and Microsoft was forced to add the TextRenderer class in .NET 2.0 to help programmers get rid of the sometimes rather awful artifacts. STCE is quite old, surely you'd also have to use TextOut() to draw the text. Note how the MSDN article specifically warns that you should no longer use it. — Hans Passant 7 secs ago

@UmarIqbal, But also note that there is another problem with your code, which comes from using a queue. If you make the change I stated, your code will just seem to hang. This is because the queues require a queue runner to work. More information on that here. But your original example which used a constant instead of a queue should work then. — golmschenk 21 secs ago

@M.Winter - Hard to say. The software development related sites on the stack exchange network have specific sections about what is on-topic for them in their respective help centers. The closest I can think of where this won't be off-topic is Software Engineering. But be sure to consult the help center there before posting, and delete this question to avoid cross-posting spam. — StoryTeller 1 min ago

Impressions might be wrong, but the impression that your question gives is that you are a non-programmer who has a VBA script that you are using at work that you want to be modified. You are hoping that the Stack Overflow genie will grant your wish and modify the script. If so (and I apologize if I am wrong) -- that isn't how Stack Overflow works. It isn't a free coding service but is rather a question/answer forum for programmers who encounter difficulties in their programming. If this impression is wrong, you can dispel it by explaining what you have tried and what problems you face. — John Coleman 21 secs ago

@AnttiHaapala Tell that to the average electrical engineer who dabbles in C programming on the side. Or to all those mediocre PC programmers who have somehow ended up writing embedded systems programs. They don't have a clue about what the standard says and will just toss in some form of main() by chance. There are even embedded systems tool vendors who get this wrong - many IDE:s that use gcc fail to set -ffreestanding as the default option. — Lundin 20 secs ago

Most people "live dangerously" and assume that you can do direct arithmetic on time_t values. Be aware that if you port to an extraordinary system, you might have to fix your code, but so would everyone else, and it would be an extraordinarily foolhardy system vendor who did not provide a simple type. Said vendor could appeal to the standard and they'd be right; the programmers would probably vote with their feet and ignore it. Be aware that there is a theoretical issue. Don't worry about it in practice unless you work on a very peculiar system. — Jonathan Leffler 31 secs ago

Sorry, every game is different. Also if this is not Unity(Unity tag is removed), I can't answer that because each platform is different. You can apply general stuff you read to everything because it may work but be a poorly made code. You will have to wait for Javascript programmers to help you. — Programmer 42 secs ago

It do not see why the last pointer is repeatedly set to NULL because it happens only when one of the words in dict is equal to the word that should be removed. Welcome to Stack Overflow! Questions that ask "where do I start" are typically too broad and are not a good fit for this site. People have their own method for approaching the problem and because of this there cannot be a correct answer. Give a good read over Where to Start, then address your post. — 4castle 46 secs ago

Stack Overflow's mission statement is to answer programming questions and allow programmers to help each other. Don't get me wrong, it's not as hard as it seems. You're literally a few reading hours away from becoming a programmer and posting a programming question here. But until you do that, this place is not for you. Try to see it from our perspective: should we allow clients to use SO to request free work? — Andrei Gheorghiu 44 secs ago
