Please read this open letter to students with homework problems. In short, we are not here to help you cheat on your work. It is assigned to you because it will help you develop skills that you need to succeed in your program of study. Frankly, it's insulting to instructors and TAs like myself that put in hours of work during a global pandemic disrupting everything and requiring remote learning and other measures to see students like you just blatantly cheat. — nanofarad 38 secs ago

first tip ... there's a difference between java and javascript - One is essentially a toy, designed for writing small pieces of code, and traditionally used and abused by inexperienced programmers. The other is a scripting language for web browsers. — Jaromanda X 39 secs ago

Hi and welcome to Stack Overflow. Please note that this website is for professional programmers helping each others out. It is not a network for help with CS homework. People here usually expect you to put a considerable amount of thought and research into the problem before you ask a question. This question does not contain any sign of effort yet. — Hubert Grzeskowiak 16 secs ago

Safety and security are two different things. Rust's safety is mainly for protecting programmers against programming mistakes. Such mistakes may lead to security issues. The aim of Rust is to provide safety, but this is does not mean it's not possible to write malicious software in rust (unintentionally or intentionally). — Jesper 24 secs ago

In any case, machine code has no type information. The so-called runtime can easily mislead programmers who do not have much computer knowledge. Many books will not introduce this concept in detail, but it is necessary for us to understand it deeply, which is related to the meaning of the program. . In many cases, it is the extra work done by the compiler. The so-called continuous iteration of language versions and the emergence of new grammars are actually an update iteration of the compiler. — Melvin Levett 15 secs ago

You actually don't have to know how RTTI is implemented by the compiler to use it, just like many other abstractions C++ gives you (memory management, various data structures, etc). Abstraction is a useful and necessary concept for programmers. — Botje 59 secs ago

@Adam there would be zero effect for the code execution but there would be an effect for communicating intent to other programmers. That can include yourself in the future. If you see the signatures async foo() and bar() which one would you say returns a promise and which one would you not be sure of? Some editors might only show you the signature, after all. Alternatively, you could just look it up yourself. Having to read the code further takes a non-zero amount of time. You're arguing for adding more dev time just because 5 bytes are slightly superfluous but not incorrect. — VLAZ 35 secs ago

@VLAZ - Especially for programmers who are new-ish to async, mixing async/await AND explicit Promises is definitely confusing code. If you're going to use async, then do it fully and put await with a try-catch in the body of the function. — Adam just now

See softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/a/388055 - scope should be as constrained as possible, usually, it makes code more readable when the script is large, and it'll let you separate related variables into their own modules. But I don't think this is on-topic here on SO — CertainPerformance 1 min ago

Having a visible representation is a big deal. Most programmers are familiar with the concept of a "control", a space carved out in the host view that has its own behavior, written by programmers that don't have to talk to the host programmers every day. But that world is not ideal, they live on an island and the boat does not arrive as often as it should. Which is what killed it. — Hans Passant 39 secs ago
