Questions asking "Is there a way to do X?" / "Can I do X?" / "Is it possible to do X?" are rarely appropriate for the Stack Exchange format. The answer is usually "yes", but sometimes "no". Either way, the question is usually not very effective. In addition, what is usually meant is "How can I do X?", which will often, but not always, be too broad for Stack Overflow. Please edit your question to clarify what it is you want. Right now, this is a "yes"/"no" question. Please see: Why is “Is it possible to…” a poorly worded question?Makyen 1 min ago

I don't think that this kind of question is supposed to be asked on Stackoverflow, this is a place involving Q&A for professional and enthusiast programmers. This is more of a question for softwareengineering.stackexchange.com. Anyway, my 2 cents: Why would you not test your PHP logic/output? If you do not test your backend, how are you going to verify your changes in the backend did not break anything? — Fjarlaegur 33 secs ago

As in comparing different classes? No, it doesnt sound right. And yeah, the assignments in this course never were really good. Very convoluted, had multiple programmers say that no one should write stuff that way if they want to get a job. — Merkava 20 secs ago

You can "not upgrade" at least until you can find somebody who can. And besides - what's the problem? If you're on a stable version, best practice is to stay on that version otherwise you introduce unknown changes to the system. Unless you really need some new feature. This is true for any library, not just jQueryVLAZ 45 secs ago

Why do you worry about performance in such a minor case? Premature optimization is evil. Postpone it until you have to write critical code and much more experience. — Sinatr 48 secs ago

Unclear what level of abstraction you are asking about. Memory barriers are essential for multi-threaded programming on most multi-processor systems, but most application level programmers never will need to know about them because the barriers that are hidden within higher level "synchronization" mechanisms usually are all that is needed. — Solomon Slow 49 secs ago

I wasn't suggesting drawing outside the page bounds throws an exception, I was suggesting stop catching exceptions without handling them. Drawing outside the page bounds would have exactly the effect the poster is describing. — Dour High Arch 1 min ago
