When Microsoft bought Dos 1 to sell to IBM they were the leading supplier of OEM Unix systems. Dos 1 was based on CP/M micro processor OS. The first thing Microsoft's Unix programmers did was add as many Unix features to Dos as they had room for. This is where handles were introduced and also redirection and piping. Computer magazines at the time told us piping is the way of the future. We would edit our DTP documents (at a command prompt?), pipe it to the spell checker, then to the grammar checker, then to the print program. It's been 36 years and I'm still waiting. — Mark 23 secs ago

This question is too vague and broad in scope for this site. We don't recommend languages that you should use. We also can't answer questions about Apple's policies or pricing - those questions should be asked directly to Apple. Note: In C# and Java, the reflection facilities generally allow you to access anything, including private stuff, it's just inconvenient. It's not a security feature, it's to reduce the scope of the public API, but it's all there. Python differs in making the decision that privacy is a convention, and making it hard to work around when you might have a real need to bypass the public API is infantilizing programmers. — ShadowRanger 30 secs ago

Listen, i checked it also when logging in to the system, i know what is happening but i don't know how to avoid it, what other programmers do? When i login to the app, first the Header components is re-rendered, than the user redirected to /private page (because Index page using useEffect to check for props.isAuthenticated value). In the getInitialProps of /private i have data fetching from api endpoint. i see the console.log("start fetching"), that after few seconds i see the console.log("end fetching") and the /private page. Why do you say that data fetching will not stuck the rendering? — user3343396 47 secs ago

What Aaron says, plus: You're best adviced to not do this. From security point of view, it's a horrible idea to plug some storage device in a computer and auto-launch an application stored on it. You'll see lots of effort put into avoiding exactly this, by OS programmers and a ton of security related software creators, so you'll not enjoy the outcome of your idea. — xph 26 secs ago

@KonradRudolph It is just passing by reference using a referenced type. You entirely do not understand C. You are taking terms from other languages as for example from C++ and starting to argue that in C there is no passing by reference in meaning of C++. It is a typical fallacy of low-qualified programmers. — Vlad from Moscow 49 secs ago

@moia I think auto for return is just a cleaner way to make codes more readable(obviously, that is not the functional use of auto in return type). Just the 4-letter word in front of function name lays function names in fixed indentation making it more readable especially when you're looking at codes in a colorless text-editor. void input parameter is an industry-wide recommendation for programming in c, for days when you are actually mixing c and .cpp. linkkishoredbn 44 secs ago

Looks like you're looking for a software recommendation instead of needing help with a coding issue in particular, which is probably why this has been closed. There should be a wide variety of node packages that spell check though, so it should be a matter of looking through npm, and seeing what would work best with Protractor (as you can get text of elements with it) — KyleFairns 17 secs ago

@Kidsm In case you are not aware: on Cryptography.SE there is a golden rule that the professionals try hard to communicate to amateurs (software engineers mostly): DO NOT ROLL OUT YOUR OWN CRYPTO. :) And they mean it. Once you've decided to ignore this warning - remember that your crypto is just a toy, so you are free to invent whatever you fancy (it won't be secure anyway). — tum_ 53 secs ago

To explain why this can't be answered: you will get as many different answers as you have programmers. "What should I learn" is going to vary by our own individual experiences, and those experiences don't line up. Determine your performance requirements. Determine the limitations and constrains under which your system will operate. Determine which technologies are popular right now, and choose technologies that meet your requirements and work within your constraints. What should you learn? That depends on you. — Amy 14 secs ago

Well in the .head() case it has to be a function because it takes an argument, of course, but in my mind, head() is an action---similar to the command line tool, head -n 5 file to get the first 5 lines of the file. So that is fitting a typical API that many programmers would already know. Instead of "its the first N values so it's stored so it should be an attribute" think of it as clipping the dataframe. — alkasm 50 secs ago

I suspect much of the "hate" dates to when other control structures were relatively new, but programmers were reluctant to adopt them (just like it took a while to convince programmers that high level languages could be used for system programming instead of assembly). So the language was overly harsh because goto was being used when for and/or while would be more appropriate. Now it's used sparingly, when other constructs don't fit, and that's OK. — Barmar 58 secs ago
