What I'm saying is that the question you've asked clearly is not in compliance with the site guidelines, and has been closed for that reason. I'm not going to play semantics games with you. I've addressed this question, and had the courtesy to explain (again, more than once) why your question was closed. This site is for specific questions related to programming (code) or use of programmers tools. If you have a specific question related to those topics (with emphasis on specific), use the Ask Question button at the top of the page and ask it. — Ken White 46 secs ago

@ruakh i can see how if-statement makes the code more readable for some programmers so i have included it in the annswer. i don't think -eq 0 will improve readability. — sergio 24 secs ago

Good, you have VS2017. See How to Pass Command Line Arguments using Visual Studio ?. You have another option. In the VS2017 menu folder, open the VS Developers Command Prompt. This gives you the complete freedom of a command line for VS2017. Now simply cd \Users\you\path\to\your\project and put your test.txt there. Then simply run nameofproject.exe test.txt` and it will find your file. This is why I hate IDEs for new programmers. You are not stuck on C, you are stuck on How do I configure VS?David C. But regular function use space as well, for the arguments and for the local variables. You don't think local variables (and arguments) comes for free? And the goal for most programmers is to write good, readable and maintainable code. Sometimes OOP helps with that, and sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes other languages might be better (even if they might use even more memory than a corresponding C++ program). — Some programmer dude 1 min ago

And yes, I agree with this "And the goal for most programmers is to write good, readable and maintainable code" and this "If you have a class with multiple members, then the class is supposedly using all members one way or another." may always not be true. — Jax 10 secs ago
Asking for software recommendations have been off-topic here for a long time. It's nothing new. — Magnus Eriksson 45 secs ago
Asking for software recommendations have been off-topic here for a long time. It's nothing new. It's also good to keep the scope of the sites limited. Otherwise, there would be way too much noise here that would make searching for answers much harder. Plus, software suggestions are usually very subjective and since software/services comes and goes, answers would also most likely have expiration dates. — Magnus Eriksson 28 secs ago

This is getting down voted because functional programming sucks in actual applications that need architecture. It enhances the already proliferate tendency of js programmers to make big turds of spaghetti code that are really, really hard to read/follow and impossible to be split out in reasonable components. If react is pushing this way they are making a big mistake, and I will not follow them there. — RickyA 1 min ago

The problem I'm having is I do not know what experience you have.I answer question to Novices different from experience programmers. To modify a DataRow you have two choices 1) Write the entire row using Item.Array 2) Write items one at a time.Linq is a query that is meant for Reading (not writing). What you are asking is to use method 2 above since method one is use for writing all the data and you want to write some of the data. What you want to do is really OR two arrays A[],B[] selectively choosing either A or B. So if I make array C = {1,7,8} the columns I want from B and take others from A. — jdweng 26 secs ago

Peter you can see a link to all your previous questions by clicking on your name to go to your profile. I also agree with Oleg that it's important for future programmers who land on a page to be able to quickly see which answer solved your problem, if any did. But the great news is it's not too late! You can go through your previous questions today and click the check mark to accept each question that solved your problem. Usually your own comments there noting your problem was solved are there to remind you which answer solved your problem. — Max Power 18 secs ago

@j.a. I'm not trying to be snarky here (though I'm sure someone will think that I am). What you're saying doesn't make any sense at all. A socket object is not created until a connection is made and handed to the callback. What are you suggesting to solve your asymmetrical issue? Are you suggesting that we just have a bunch of unused socket objects laying around just in case a connection is made? How do you propose to add event handlers to these non-existent socket objects in code? I've been a software engineer a long time and I would like to see that example code please. — gforce301 38 secs ago
