I just tried with ARM androideabi and ARM gnueabi, and both show exactly the same behavior as what I mentioned in my previous comment. namely, no blank destructor with -O2, and this is not the case without -O2. Tell your co-worker he's an idiot. He's probably trying to show off what he thinks is fancy c++ syntax.... I've worked with a lot of programmers like that. — ethang 1 min ago

Your question is off-topic here, as this is a site for programmers writing apps, not folks maintaining phones. You might have more luck asking your question at a site that's geared toward those things. That said, if you can root the phone, then once the first phone is set up, you can pull the image and load it onto all the other phones. You will still need to root them all, however. — 323go 36 secs ago

@Qwerky this questions is a very bad fit for Programmers - it would be quickly voted down and closed over there, see programmers.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic Recommended reading: What goes on Programmers.SE? A guide for Stack Overflowgnat 2 mins ago

Welcome to Stack Overflow. It is a forum to ask programming / coding related questions. Before your question gets closed as off-topic and too general, let me say the following - First, IGN.com isn't exactly a programming world related site (more of a gaming world related site). Also, you should checkout other sites listed under Stack Exchange (you might find something for programming enthusiasts like Programmers). You can also try Yahoo Answers, Ask.com etc. Good luck! — Aswin Ramakrishnan 24 secs ago

@MichaelGulik: But that's the point. You wanted opinions, but Stack Overflow is for questions that can be answered in a (mostly) objective way. There are other sites in the Stack Exchange universe, though. I think programmers.stackexchange.com is much better suited for broad "big picture" questions. — Christian Hackl 1 min ago

Since this is almost certainly a [GCSE exam question]() you are asking about, I urge you to go and read Open letter to students with homework problemsMartijn Pieters 30 secs ago

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it doesn't cover any of the 4 items explained in the "What topics can I ask about here?" page: it's not about (a) a specific programming problem, or (b) a software algorithm, or (c) software tools commonly used by programmers; (d) a practical, answerable problem that is unique to software development. — Oliver W. 1 min ago

A fine question, but you may wish to ask this on programmers.stackexchange.com instead; you may get better input there, and it is a bit too broad for SO (SO tends to focus on the concrete). — Jason C 1 min ago

I have learned that performance measurement is a bit tricky and full of pitfalls even for somewhat experienced programmers like me. The JIT shouldnt't be underestimated. Can you share the details of how you measured the performance? — Christian Hujer 58 secs ago

@CodesInChaos that's why I am always afraid of programmers who only know python or C#. — iharob 43 secs ago

C in general doesn't try to protect programmers from doing dumb things. It's easier to allow this than to forbid it and the assumption is that the programmer knows what they're doing. "Doctor, it hurts when I do this. - Don't do that." — CodesInChaos 2 mins ago

@CodesInChaos They will help you prevent a dumb mistake, and when you become a skilled c (and please don't include c++ here), your compilation failure rate is almost zero and usually caused by silly typos and such, with the added benefit that your program is robust and efficient. In my opinion, there are programmers and some guys who can order some instructions in a very dangerous way with some programming languages that are not meant for application development, excluding of course Java. — iharob 1 min ago
