I am wondering if I install ubuntu once on a virtual machine running inside virtualbox, could I then use it as a portable OS and launch it from virtualbox on any machine? Or would I have to match the hardware of the original host?

There's not much that can be done, honestly. Spammers will spam. IP address blacklists/bans aren't particularly useful because the IP address used by spammers are a huge range & varies a lot. This is leads to a whack-a-mole contest & you end...

Jeez guys. Just flag the stuff as spam and be done with it. It doesn't live that long on the site. Besides, how else are people going to get their 500 helpful flag badge???
@vasa1 From my point of view, flagging carries a bit more authority than just downvoting. I know through reviewing posts, I feel a greater responsibility when I flag a post for deletion. Plus, I don't want to get called out on it, as I have been at times.
especially when one chooses to leave an auto-comment.
@maggotbrain I have so many flags that I've done, I don't care when anyone calls me out on it, I say "Well, we all make mistakes, crap happens, tolerate it, don't be calling me out randomly."
@maggotbrain I thought those were only the flags which also carried close votes with them?
as a close-voter guy, I don't see close-reasons as flags anymore, so...
most of my flags are spam identifiers when they're against questions
I'm on a roll recently with flagging answers for vaporization as Not an Answer, though.
@TheLordofTime I do agree with you. Some folks have made me think twice about voting to delete, or close. It's still uncomfortable to have someone publically call you out.
I think new users don't want to do the wrong thing and a downvote seems more anonymous than a flag, I guess. Since you do get to see which flags are rejected or declined in one's profile.

It works as expected and I get the size of the disks twice but if I do:
df|awk '{$some=$2; print $some}'
I just get blank lines. Why is this happening? Something is maybe wrong in my unders...
I am trying to pipe a string to espeak function from a python file like this [ foo.py | espeak --stdin ] , the contents of foo.py are this [ def foo(): return 'foo' foo() ] (with proper indentation), but it doesnt work ? any clue why this may not be working
