I think you must have played dota to be able to get invites and such..

It's not a "true fork" because I'm not going to make any changes to it.

Just to be sure, it's open source as I assumed right?

Q: How to install MATE?

I have seen several youtube videos that are showing MATE (The Gnome 2.x fork) installed in 11.10. How can I install it to test it out in 11.10 and above. If it helps the only sources I know of are: SourceForge - http://sourceforge.net/projects/matede/ GitHub - https://github.com/Perberos/Mate-...

it looked really good here but it looks like windows 98 when you install it...

everything's so big so this 1366*768 desktop looks like an old 800*600 :S

adn the windows 98 theme doesn't really help..
