Hi fellas!
Am not able to update my system, nor my software center is not working showing package problem with Google Chrome. Is there any way to uninstall Chrome without using "apt" or any other way to uninstall the Chrome package, so that this problem gets resolved?

Q: Noob- How do I install Ubuntu Server on a Rackable Server using USB. Can I get set by step instructions?

Can I get set by step instructions on how to do this. Everyone has different instructions on how to do this. This rackable server has no OS installed and I want to put Ubuntu Server on it. It has 4 USB ports on it. How can I do this in dummy edition please?

/var/lib/apt/lists/dl.google.com_linux_chrome_deb_dists_stable_main_i18n_Transl‌ation-en is the culprit. get rid of it with sudo rm -i /var/lib/apt/lists/dl.google.com_linux_chrome_deb_dists_stable_main_i18n_Transla‌tion-en and enjoy.

IMO reinstall is not needed, and potentially may not even work.

Q: How do I fix a "Problem with MergeList" error when trying to do an update?

The computer gave me this output in a window: E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. How can I fix this?

it should solve, for sure, and if it doesn't, you have some other problem.

then cat /etc/apt/sources.list | pastebinit

Better copy-paste to avoid errors. you'll get a link in terminal. give me that.

can you fetch me a file that starts with dl.google.com thats located in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

there should be one, and that file will have the repo link. I will try and check if the error is with the repo itself.

there is no file with dl.google.com but here are 3 files stating google-chrome.list, google-chrome.list.save, google-talkplugin.list

Interesting observation: tmpfs seems to apply some form of compression to the file data. I created a 600 MB file filled with zeroes and noticed absolutely no increase in memory or swap usage.

Only when I tried to open the file in a hex editor did my memory usage jump by 600 MB.
