I have run another terminal from the HUD, then I can see the other terminal with Alt+`, but I still can't get the window to appear (although it's menu bar seems it might be active at the top of the screen - but I think that spans all the windows for the application?)

I found what looks like another bug with the shade/unshade option (Ctrl+Alt+S) - if you shade a terminal and move to another app and shade that, you cannot go back and unshade the terminal
