help my computer loads but no bios post, grub menu doesn't display either after waiting a few seconds my ubuntu log-on screen appears and it runs normally. My computer runs dual boot I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and windows 7.

What "wise" advice: I recommend running with two physical hard disks. One is used for the operating system, and the other is used for all your personal files. It's much easier to do things like installations, etc.
Maybe the tag is too specific, or just untimely. Perhaps we should wait for a relevant non-hypothetical question before creating the tag, e.g. what problems Ubuntu is having on someone's Macbook that are related to the retina display -- specifically, the retina part?
