I've recently acquired a machine with Ubuntu 18.04 on it. I installed R simply with:
sudo apt-get install r-base
And when I call $ R in console, it starts up with:

@WinEunuuchs2Unix, you don't know where I live so here goes… Totally untested by me … dconf dump / > dconf-backup.txt will create a file that has all the settings of gsettings. If you then delete ~/.config/dconf/user, log out and log back, you should get an "original" system. Do a dump again. Compare the two dumps. Then restore your original settings using dconf load / < dconf-backup.txt.
How i can install the discord.tar.gz file in Ubuntu 18.04.03 LTS . I am using this method : tar -zxvf discord.tar.gz but after extraction while i run ./configure seems not working .
Quite recently, the Gnome Shell Integration plugin started failing on both Firefox and Chrome.
After some investigation I updated the requests module from pip3 but got another error:

ar t libXYZ.a show me test1.o test3.o test2.o
I want to remove one of the object file :
ar d libXYZ.a test1.o give me error :

I changed window managers and now need to be able to change /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness (because the new wm cannot change screen brightness natively).
I created a user group called brightness, added myself to the group, and ran sudo chown root:brightness /sys/class/backlight...
I have two issues.
Issue # 1: I am using BackBox 6 which is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I tried a lot to install NetSpeed meter but failed. I searched Netspeed on GNOME software center but nothing in there.
Issue # 2: Hightlight color is Blue I want to change it to dark gray. In previous version...
I would like to use my SSD disk as cache for the full file system.
I also would like full disk encryption.
A normal Ubuntu 18.04 installation makes it relatively easy to do full disk encryption, but does not include a way to do SSD caching.
I have been able to make an installation with bcache ...

@DKBose Thanks for all your efforts. The dupe suggested dconf dump / > dump.dconf which indeed seems to list everything. I didn't see anything that struck a bell so it may have been a compiz or xorg setting I changed. I'm annoyed at myself for not remembering what I change :(
