I am trying to create a script which is disabling the laptop's monitor and set the resolution of my external monitor to 3440x1440 @ 44fps. I am using 44fps because this is the maximum refresh rate my video card supports. This is the output of xrandr:

@Anwar well.... what do you want to restore? If it is just /home/$USER/ that is very easy. (just tar /home/$USER/ while keeping permissions to /home/tarfile and untar it when they log in or log out). The whole root system is a bit of a problem :-P
@Anwar oh! I thought "systemback" was something else. Have you seen "timeshift"? That might be what you want.

I want my crontab to be every 4 hours but from a certain time 1 pm:
I chose this config:
0 1/4 * * *
but if I save I get the error:
bad hour errors in crontab file, can't install.
This following works perfectly, but then I cannot decide the starting time.

I don't want any security on my ubuntu box. This is because it is a virtual box, when I open it up I just want it to be ready to roll, and not need to type "osboxes.org" or hit enter etc.
This is especially because, as a vm, it's a little slow and password entry is prone to error/frustration.

1 - Install Ubuntu font and set it in Gnome Tweaks tool
2 - Download the official Yaru theme (GTK theme and icons) and install it

@Fabby Hi again. I don't care about BankID, the eID I am trying to use is another one, using a smartcard. And needing the SConnect extension, apparently. Was SConnect used also in your case?
And the fundamentals are the same: You don't just need the FF extension, but also the drivers.
So you need to install these first before the extension works.

@Rinzwind It turns out the two line kernel upgrade was because the steam community was up in arms because response time was 1 minute: lwn.net/Articles/792240 so it had nothing to do with changing comments. You probably don't care but I just had to set the record straight after finding out today.
i didn't check its md5 when I downloaded and don't really know how to benchmark this kind of hardware information since i am a regular user. but it feels much slower and clunky. not as smooth as before. is my installation broken?
