Does this askubuntu.com/q/1100315/231142 seem a little off to anybody else that OP might be using Mac OS X and we are answering the questions? All the other questions I cannot seem to duplicate on my Ubuntu at all. So, I am at a loss.

@Terrance what seems really off to me is that the first answer is copypasta with only a link to the source

5:49 AM
@Zanna I didn't notice that either. Something really does seem fishy or off on OP's other questions too.

Oh right...
"Sort the file by its numerate number" is a funny title

Hi, guys! Is it possible to change the website's CAPTCHA? I am in a country, where Internet is hard to access - a part of it is blocked and another part is intentionally slowed-down. I have been trying to post a question for 12 hours now - all in vain. One problem is that the website apparently uses a CAPTCHA provided by google, which is blocked here.

@New2linux Try using proxy. Captcha is for security purposes. I think you can't by pass it

1:04 PM
Hello All.
hope you are doing great.
could anyone please help me with this post: askubuntu.com/questions/1100594/…

1:20 PM
@Kulfy Proxies and VPNs are not a solution to a systematic internet censorship, as they are also blocked, work slowly and are insecure. Also, they are not free. I did not mean to remove Captcha at all. I just suggested to change it from Google's captcha to some other, as google is blocked in my locality. It is really a suggestion to the web admins and would probably take a line of code, but simplify life immensely for someone.

We in here are not the ones deciding what captcha should be used. You can perhaps ask about such things on Meta Stack Exchange

@Zanna OK Thank you!

:)

hello, could someone look into this question as well: askubuntu.com/questions/1100426/…
I would lke to create a Permanent symlink using udev
i understand that I will have to create a rule in /etc/udev/rules.d/ but do not know how exactly I will define the device: /dev/myusb in the rule.

@Imrank that question seem to me to lack details, though maybe someone else will understand
I suggest you edit it and explain specifically what you want to do and maybe why you think you need to do that - what is the purpose?

2:32 PM
okay I will update the question with my complete requirement.

I often confuse edible and editable. Sometimes this is embarrassing.

Hahaha

Like when I was talking about retro glasses. And a bra. Never mind. Don't take me serious on fridays.

Hello @Za
Hello @Zanna please have a look.
I have modified the post.

@Imrank thanks for editing. It definitely looks clearer. I don't know about that topic myself though, sorry

Q: Systemd Unit Files, Services vs Application

GyhthI'm attempting to create a Unit File so that an application starts after a totally separate process has started, but the problem is that it seems to skip over the Unit file. I'm wondering how I go about getting this to work. With that, and most importantly maybe, does running an application like...

Q: record screen and internal audio with ffmpeg

user1133275What is the ffmpeg command to record screen and internal audio (on Ubuntu 18.04)? I'll omit the many things I tried that did not work and skip to the something close to what I am looking for; V="$(xdpyinfo | grep dimensions | perl -pe 's/.* ([0-9]+x[0-9]+) .*/$1/g')" A="$(pacmd list-sources | ...

Q: how to prioritize udev-rules over the driver/kernel (network interfaces names)?

Jossef HarushI have an ubuntu server 14.04 virtual machine with 2 network interfaces eth0 - for web management, SSH eth1 - for incoming span network analysis I've configured the machine with udev rules (to ensure consistency and proper binding of mac-addresses to logical network interfaces names. @dessert haha yeah...
Isn't \s only horizontal whitespace?
Or do I just think that because sed only sees newlines that have been explicitly read into the pattern space with N?

oh, right:
> '\s'
Matches whitespace characters (spaces and tabs). Newlines embedded
in the pattern/hold spaces will also match
thanks for editing and remarking that!

Q: Not sure if I have a Nvidia-driver-410 bug or an error

Ólafur Víðir GuðbjargarsonGood evening everyone (time of writing here) I am currently having a "small" problem getting my Nvidia drivers to work. It is identical to this post: NVidia X Server Settings GUI doesn't start on ubuntu 18.04 I however have not installed CuDNN and TensorFlow-GPU. My uname -a: olividir@OVG-HP:~...

@dessert Good Evening. Where's our friend Fabby tonight?

@WinEunuuchs2Unix good evening! no idea, maybe he’s smoking.

@dessert This is where I'm supposed to say: "Smoking is a nasty habit". But I smoke too...lol

@WinEunuuchs2Unix well it’s the time for new year’s resolutions soon :)

@dessert A few years back I made a resolution to stop making resolutions...lol

I quit smoking 16 years ago. =)

good for you!

Thank you!
It was soooo tough to quit though. A very hard 30 days it took me to completely overcome it.

I often hear that it’s hard, glad I never started.

And don't either! =)

But today I wanted to start going to bed before 01:00 AM, got to hurry now… Good night!
