Q: Why is Github more popular than Gitorious?

Gitorious has been around longer and the two sites seem to cover the same ground, yet a quick Google Fight shows Github almost two orders of magnitude higher. Is there a larger distinction that I'm not aware of?

wish that would go away, its rather non-constructive all over.

i think this is where the FUD ratio gets hazy in the SO world that we dont see on AU because the focus is so much narrower.

Hello Chaps, I am doing an embarrassing presentation of fossil-scm on ubuntu 12.04 for some colleagues, and it worked perfectly on ubuntu 10.04, but now i get the message bash: /home/bjorn/bin/fossil: Permission denied
Can you give a hint on what I have missed out on since 10.04 ?

That was funny. I had to restart bash to run a program i had just installed, through sudo apt-get install fossil.

The most wierd was probably the error message. "Permission denied", when the truth was "no such program"

yes, i tried that. but twice, it did not display Nothing but a link as an option. i was quick enough to reset and insert that, but lazy enough to switch back to remote source.
