So, if I do a dd if foo.iso of=/dev/sdc, it'll carry over everything, including partition maps, right?

or do I need to do this very manually and carefully?

(it's too late, i'm testing it. i'll figure it out, just wanted to know before it's finished doing all 80GB of the transfer. ;P)

Q: Linux kernel compiling commands

I'm trying to make a mini operating system (using the linux kernel). Im planning on it being for x86 and Im trying to make it so that it not only runs on qemu but also on a real device. What are the exact commands that I would need to put into terminal to do this? Thanks

well I installed the ssh-server on the new one, set a root password on the new one, have a extra user for transfer ready. now I guess I have to mount/link the new to the old computer

I would guess to use sshfs but as Dustin does not mention anything I'm not sure
