As I'm rather new to Ubuntu - how long should I let 18.04 sit for before I start updating 16.04 systems that I expect to be stable?

Have a few boxen at home and at work that runs current LTS, and mostly mundane services (squid, DHCP, dns and so on)

the lts -> lts upgrade is released a bit later :)

I don't care too much about upgrade paths

each machine runs fairly trivial services, and should be trivial do apt-get dist-upgrade

ubuntu 18 does not let me right-click anywhere but on the launcher (and there I need to hold it for 2 seconds)

no rightclick whatsoever

but i have no touch, just a simple mouse

still have to restart to get to the newest kernel though

but on the other hand im not using the canonical gnome off-spin

i installed vanilla-gnome as package

funky :P got everything else working incl. natural scrolling for once w/o a script :X

hmm. sources list is out of wack. shows 17.10 and 18.04.

(and yes, I did a full reinstall)

ah well. minor issue :=)

@vidarlo the .1 releases of xenial and trusty were released on 2016-07-21 and 2014-07-24, so august is a good month to update lts→lts.

@RobotHumans Development seems to be pretty dead

@Seth It's super old, like 2015 - built on Unity. Not without bugs. Still crazy fun to play.

My only complaint is that all mission completion doesn't reset the mission board, leave you with equipment/skills and ramp the difficulty (although it does have a difficulty ramping system). When you get to the end-game, you're pretty much unstoppable unless you REALLY mess up.

I'll probably play it through 4 times or so editing save files to turn missions back on. At 40 or so hours for a playthrough and $5 cost, that's like 2 cents an hour or so.

I'ld go to the movie theater if I could do it on a nickel... Just sayin'.

np. If you wind up getting it lmk. We might be able to do multiplayer sometime. I have my end-game save, and it's pretty maxed. Any skill and kit you want sort of thing.
