23:00
it does
if it doesn't for u for some reason get PAE kernel
@wisemonkey non-PAE
I have 16GB using 64 bit but it has frozen completely 4 times already
I know several changes regarding pae happened in 32bit
@aking1012 oh is it the other way?
so I am not sure if it is still supported or not
PAE is what lets you address more space
23:01
yea so supports more RAM, no?
idk if it's a supported configuration, but you can get more than 4 with PAE
PAE = Powerful Awesome Expansion
anyways anyone familiar with make: *** [miniperl] Error 1
?
yeah I know, with pae I know it detects, 11.10 with pae already showed me that but in 12.04 for what i read they removed pae
yup my VM shows me 6GB with 32 bit
23:02
basically is simple 32bit and 64bit
did u try free ?
@aking1012 Physicial Address
how much it shows?
am on 64bit right now downloading the 32bit iso
@LuisAlvarado you are right
my 64 runs fine, all my freezes were overheat related
23:06
I got a desktop pc with the side removed
so there ir A LOT of ventilation
me too, but my video card is BEAST
lmsensors reports "Happy status is happy"
I got this big Cooler Master HAF with 5 120mm fans and water cooled CPU -- don't feel like keeping it naked ;)
well naked is free for me
lowers heat in all hdd, video card, motherboard, cpu and the kitchen sink
ohh yea the other one is in balcony open from all sides
school was happy to let me have it without any money :)
23:09
;)
it used o run my tiny website but now got this monster machine running servers on VMs and making balcony machine a mirror :)
if I could setup everything well enough :P
has anyone played with RSS in python and wants to recommend a library?
nope not me
i should probably just take apart newsfeed from screenlets
ohh yea screenlets been 2 years since I used them last time
there was a time when I used to simply love screenlets
23:13
i like them a lot except for the repositioning on unity --replace and setsid unity
now its shell extensions
you build for users, not for builders...just my opinion
@aking1012 by resistance do you mean Reveal Sensitivity?
reveal and wall sensitivity...let me grab my config
do you notice in the video how there is like a small 'shadow' that appears when (imo) the bar should be appearing
23:15
yes, i see that. that is most likely detection, but bug
not really relevant in my case though
'reveal_pressure' is the one to make sure it's bug
high or low doesn't make a difference.
is this the setting you're talking about
i've got reveal_pressure and stop_velocity both set really low
@aking1012 i'm really enjoying htis - i'm on a skype conference with a class mate building a presentation for tomorrow in impress.js
i have tried lowest and highest and it still appears to be the same outcome
impress.js is nice
this is how work should be - collaborating via tmux and github
23:18
^--+1 to that
anyways. aside from the sidebar issues i have no problems so far with 12.04
lets hope this keeps up
@rlemon you're going the opposite direction. you want to fix it. i just turn it off and use the keyboard
how am I going in the opposite direction?
you want mousing to work, i just turn off mousing
I never said I didn't want to fix it. I just said aside from i have no other bugs or problems so far.
23:20
okay cool
@aking1012 that is a matter of choice. not progress.
valid enough
i do a lot of cli and a lot of keyboard navigation. however i do like using my mouse from time to time :P
like I will alt+tab to switch applications and alt+` to switch windows but I will still launch applications from the launcher with the mouse (pinned ones)
i use it for repositioning windows...or aiming in mw3
i even go as far as keyboard navigation in the browser for tabs.
23:21
@rlemon super + num
i know
that is my point thought.
k, i guess i'm not getting it
it's not that there isn't a convenient ki method... those are just the strange things I still use my mouse for.
ahh...okay. i use the application launcher screenlet for that
it's natural habbit to just grab my mouse for that.
23:26
Can I use ubuntu to recover files from an old system http://askubuntu.com/questions/128106/can-i-use-ubuntu-to-recover-files-from-an-old-system?atw=1 #windows
23:40
yup i only got the one monitor atm.
second one had a dead pixel, which is completely unacceptable.
little red guy staring me in the face..... o_0
23:57
the eclipse tag is sounding more and more like bug reports
